Left 4 Dead 3 http://www.leftfordead3.com It's only a matter of time before you are Left for Dead again. Fri, 17 May 2013 11:31:45 +0000 en-US hourly 1 The Pack Leader http://www.leftfordead3.com/the-pack-leader http://www.leftfordead3.com/the-pack-leader#comments Fri, 17 May 2013 11:28:34 +0000 Dirk http://www.leftfordead3.com/?p=282 Now I see a lot of talk, hype, and hope for infected animals such as dogs. Well I thought of a special zombie “The Pack Leader.” Back before the infection the pack leaders were dog trainers, with many dogs of their own. The skills of dog trainers has always made the best out of the worst dogs. After the infection the Pack Leader continues to train and gather packs of undead dogs, goes to show some skills and loyalty transcend death. Now the Pack Leader roams through the maps with his pack following ready to attack the next spotted survivor. The dogs even after death still retain their heightened senses; well heightened for zombie standards. They can hear/smell survivors from greater distances, once they find out about you they will howl out loudly. It will signal to the survivors of impending danger along with calling a horde to your location. The Pack Leader can have a pack of dogs ranging in numbers from two-six, they will command their dogs strategically with flanking maneuvers and distraction. The dogs won’t have an ability like the hunter where they pin you to the ground otherwise they would be to great a threat with a Pack Leader controlling up to six. The dogs once they reach a survivor will bite into their leg and not let go dealing major damage to a survivor’s leg, they can be shot or shoved off by the attacked survivor or any other survivor. Without the dogs the Pack Leader will be defenseless and easy prey. The Pack Leader along with his dogs will be a small threat, with the addition of a horde swarming all around you the threat is increased with finding the dogs through the zombie horde, The dogs can also serve an excellent distraction for a fellow special infected. Since the dogs will use flanking formations, it will bunch the survivors closer leaving them vulnerable to Spitters and boomers. With this distraction it can also make it harder to notice when a Jockey or Smoker takes away another survivor. Chargers can be devastating with the tightened group spreading them apart and giving the dogs a few seconds without gunfire to reach a survivor.

Well that’s my other idea so far, good night

The Mole http://www.leftfordead3.com/the-mole http://www.leftfordead3.com/the-mole#comments Fri, 17 May 2013 11:22:48 +0000 Dirk http://www.leftfordead3.com/?p=281 So another zombie Idea I thought of, sorry if there’s a similar zombie idea but been off the site for while and there’s too much to catch up on.
The Mole, after the infection hit many power plants including nuclear plants begun malfunctioning. The mole’s population consists of many workers of the nuclear power plants. As the infection hit these plants, the once were workers who are now zombies ended up wandering down into the lower levels of of the facility. With no one watching the plant’s levels the nuclear plants entered the melt-down stage. The facilities literally collapsed, trapping the zombies stories below the surface. With radiation seeping from the radiation chambers, the zombies begun changing. They begun adapting to the dark, their nails turned more into claws and they begun digging steadily getting better and faster at it. After a few years these zombies are making their return to surface. Unable to withstand long exposure to the sun they now dig right under the surface waiting for victims. The Moles will make random holes to impede the survivors progress, the holes will be deep enough when a survivor falls in they will be hanging on the ledge needing assistance from a fellow survivor. Along with digging holes the Mole will also dig their way right below the survivors and whenever he decides, he will expose himself for a second to grab at a survivor’s feet and knock any nearby survivors off their feet. The mole will have low health since he will only give a window of a few seconds until he retreats back under ground, so he will be very difficult to kill.

That’s it for now, guess I was in the mood for writing near a novel for a single zombie back story lol.

The Volcano http://www.leftfordead3.com/the-volcano http://www.leftfordead3.com/the-volcano#comments Tue, 07 May 2013 11:20:09 +0000 XenuLies http://www.leftfordead3.com/?p=278 Here’s an idea for a new boss infected that spawn in place of a Tank, named the Volcano. This nickname comes from how creates a substance the survivors refer to as magma/lava.
First off, he’s very large, bigger than a boomer even, but the rest of his body is also kinda big, not just his stomach. This size makes him INCREDIBLY slow, he makes up for this with his ranged attack. His skin looks similar to the Chargers arm, very rough and scabby, but also a little charred/burnt.

His actual mutation is with his stomach acid, he can digest a very wide range of materials. Following this, his behavior has changed to make him hunger for this that fit this variety, usually dirt, grass, or other plants. Unlike how most creatures digest food (to turn into waste) all the mass is held inside him, where continuous digestion super-heats the material, eventually turning some of it into small, condensed balls/lumps, roughly the size of golf balls.

His special, as many of you can guess, is that he spits/vomits this “magma” at you. But it’s trajectory would be much more like the Spitters, these large globs of heated material would be lobbed several meters, before impacting. Upon impacting, a medium sized pool, which would linger around a bit longer than spitter goo does. The “magma” would actually look very similar (to a degree) to its real world counterpart. The “stones”, small and black, would be found floating in super heated goo that would even glow bright orange at first, dimming to red as it cools (you can even see this glow within the cracks along his body).

The attack would do most of it’s damage from the initial impact on the survivors, but some of the “lava” would stay on the survivors and burn them, but when it’s on the ground it does less damage than Spitter Goo does. Due to its heat, it actually has a good chance so set most things on fire, sometimes even other infected if they don’t watch their step. But because of his already burnt up/scabby outer skin, he doesn’t catch fire, making him safe from his own attack.

Finally, upon death he would explode, leaving a MUCH bigger puddle (about the size Spitter’s spit normally makes). This blast would cause damage the same as any other explosion, hurting/killing infected if it’s realism. He actually wouldn’t have a melee attack, but rather a suicidal explosion, which would be a very powerful attack, but it’s not too OP because of his speed; you should easily be able to avoid this attack.

New Special Infected: LiLL http://www.leftfordead3.com/new-special-infected-lill http://www.leftfordead3.com/new-special-infected-lill#comments Wed, 01 May 2013 01:35:57 +0000 l4d3joe http://www.leftfordead3.com/?p=276 Lilly was a small girl with her life ahead of her, till IT all went down. She was happy, and fun loving and part of what she was still remains into what we now call Lil. Lil now wanders the landscape running frantically trying to find someone to hold onto, although its not an intimate hug she wants to bestow, but rather a frantic attack on a would be survivor.

The mutation has changed Lil’s mouth into a giant ever flowing fountain of saliva. Not just any saliva though, a super thick, sticky saliva that will trap and slow survivors movement and reaction time.

Lil roams the landscape with unrelenting speed while dropping a trail of saliva that stays on the ground 7 seconds after the initial landing.

Lils’ moves are based on a stack system. For example, if you walk over the saliva on the ground, once “stack” of saliva is applied. For every stack of saliva applied, your movement speed and gun aim/pull out speed is reduced. You can stack up to 5 times for a maximum of 50% reduction.

Her main attack is Lunge. This will lunge a small distance forward. Lunge can be used as a movement ability to lay trails of spit and to try and land on a survivor. If the spit comes in contact with a survivor, they will immediately get 2 stacks of saliva. If someone melees her off they get 1 stack of the saliva. She does minimal auto attack damage while on survivor but she will thrash frantically and will spread saliva to nearby survivors until killed or knocked off.

Lils’ secondary attack is Bite. You bite the survivor for 4 damage and apply one stack of saliva.

If Lil dies, she will leave a small concentrated puddle of saliva at the death spot. If you walk on the puddle of saliva, then  2 stacks of saliva will be applied. Saliva decay is 5 seconds once applied on a person. If within those 5 seconds another stack is applied the timer resets.
