Wish List
What features do you want to see in Left 4 Dead 3? There is always room for improvements to make each Left 4 Dead game better than before. Are there special infected you want to see carried over from the first two L4D’s, or how about removed all together?
Valve is great when it comes to listening to fan’s opinions and tries to satisfy us all. Fans wanted to see more melee weapons such as chainsaws, swords and bats and they got just that in Left 4 Dead 2. Now is your chance to voice your likes and dislikes and tell us what you want to see in Left 4 Dead 3 when it gets released.
How do you guy like the current weapons and items available? Do you want more or less weapons to choose from?
I would like to see Left 4 Dead 3 go back to darker maps and try to bring back the scary atmosphere the original has over the sequel. Give me more maps like Blood Harvest where survivors have to fight through dense woods and more endless cornfields.
Fan Submitted Ideas
Everyone wants a male Witch variant, but they always come up up with an off-putting name like “The Wizard” which makes him sound like a magic user or an old guy, or “The Warlock” which would just confuse many people. She’s not called a witch because she’ll cast a hex on you, she’s called a witch because it means a bride of Satin, So he shouldn’t have a name that implies magic, his name should imply darkness/evil.
My idea is called The Reaper. He wears a dark brown/black, baggy, hoodie. He would only have large claws on his right hand, which would come to a curve at the end, making them look like a scythe/sickle, his other hand would be much like a Hunters. He doesn’t sit nor wander, he would be standing, leaning up against a wall, quietly sulking. Not making “crying” sounds, more like sighs and whimpers. He gets disturbed much like the normal Witch, but is less aggro towards flashlights, he’s more concerned about you getting out of his territory. When startles, he would run much faster than a normal Witch, often catching up with the survivor quickly.
Since he only has large claws on one hand, he would’t spastically slash at you like a normal Witch. He would use his right arm to repeatedly hacking into you (like digging with a hoe), this would take longer to kill you, but he makes up for this with his speed.
Speed that it takes to catch you, not the speed it takes to kill you.
there should be new zombies new guns new bombs and more campains like mayebe 7 or 8 anywas it would be a very good idea to make a left for dead 3 becuse everyone would be buying it and u should make it were if u have a health pack and ur down u should be able to use ur health pack to get back up and then ur health pack is gone that would be awsome
just try it.
I would really like to see the opportunity to be a normal zombie and attack the survivors between special infected spawns. It would add a fun element to waiting to spawn. It would be an option to spawn not a requirement because there is time to plan between deaths. It would be fun to run and attack the survives as a normal zombie. Perhaps have a choice on which model you would like to spawn as. One model can be a man in a tux another is a doctor, and so on. The wait between spawns is not too long, but it would be a fun aspect to be a normal zombie.
throwable knives (tomahawk or something), dual Kodachi (short katana), and more female character. I thought that some of the character can be made as some high-school/mid-school boy/girl (to make kids look more stronger than adults might thought) Also if possible make some scene that uses moving vehicle for example we have to cut through the horde by using M2HB mounted on a Humvee, someone has to be the driver, others can be the top gunner (using the M2HB), and someone on the front seat and 1 other is on the back seat (these guys can open fire to give space to cut through) but to make it difficult, they have to cut through some charger and tank (which is the most possible to flip the Humvee). and the gunner should be vulnerable to Hunter, Boomer’s bile, smoker’s tongue, and of course Jockey (to make it more exciting let’s make it so if the jockey can’t be shaken off very soon the gunner can fall down the vehicle. and if the jockey’s shaken AFTER he/she falls he/she needs to run back to the vehicle. and also the smoker’s tongue can pull him/her off the vehicle). And to make the hard and insane difficulty more “insane”, let’s make it so that if the primary weapon is used to bash off the zombies for too much time, make it broke. (this applies to the low-durability melee weapons too, i.e Cricket and baseball bat) and if the weapon is squirted by blood too much (because of short range killing or taking damage) make it so that it jams so the player must clean it (it would take 5-10 seconds just like when putting on first aid).
and to make it MORE realistic, make the dead player turn into zombies after a couple of time if he/she is not revived by a Defibrillator.
A new special infected called the (digger) it try’s to take you underground and you can say it’s a smoker mixed with a mole it pops up and grabs you with its tongue or with it’s hands
I would really like to see more than one female character, I don’t like fighting over who gets to play ‘the’ girl character when I play left for dead with my sister.
I would love to keep most of the melee weapons from L4D2, except for the frying pan and crowbar. It would be awesome if the gas cans could refill the engine for the chainsaw, as well as in incorporation of a flamethrower with refillable features. Of course, that’s only once you get low, if you run out before finding one, then you can switch back to the melee/pistols you had before acquiring the larger bulky melee. Also, I’m not sure if this was already a thing, but I imagine that those stronger weapons would weigh down the survivors, so probably making them move a bit more slowy, perhaps crawl-speed, could balance the “OP-ness” of them. Another thing would be that the online multiplayer allows the choice of survivors characters from the first, second, (and if there are new ones for L4D3) the third game, on the theory that if they can pass by each other at one point, such as in “The Passing” of L4D2, that it is likely that they may join up at some point, maybe taking the levels in two groups of four. For instance, if they need to spread out to grab multiple items near-ish for a specific purpose, or if they have to go to two very distant places to bring back to a “base” location, that they would split off into teams, (individuals trying to be brave would likely run into one or more special infected, which is a problem for everyone to try and find them) to accomplish that goal. Also, it seems like L4D had more chapter introductions in which they had problems with the rescue team either turning, dying, crashing, or abandoning them, and were left for the final chapter to rely only on themselves. I think that as it (the disease) develops further, those remaining that are more unstable should act the same manner as “Church Guy”, with bringing hordes of trouble upon at least one campaign. It would also be interesting to see the guy whom wrote on the walls of one of the safe rooms “This is the most fun I’ve had in my whole life” (or something to that degree, implying he had fun with being able to kill other humans, infected or not). My final suggestion would be for a new infected, possibly one with a small body structure, but muscular, that can swim incredibly fast, and is somewhat of a Smoker/Spitter/Jockey combination, where is spits some sort of tar (perhaps as a reference to water pollution) to slow down survivors, and then grabs a lone survivor into the nearest water and pulls them away to attack, while the rest of the team is left trying to muck through the tar before saving their teammate. I do hope at least some of these ideas get good consideration, and if there is something about them that makes it seem unlikely or not close enough to the original gameplay, I would love and appreciate feedback about it! Can’t wait for the new game, nonetheless!
It would be awesome if on campaigns you can add on survivors to your team not like 50 but a nice amount like eh 8 er 7. Also please stop the closet action i mean when you die the survivor should spawn in a random place, maybe far away from the group, giving the player a harder time to get reconnected with the other survivors.
I love Left 4 Dead 3!

It’s people like you that make this forum discreditable. Assuming anyone important, probably a Valve employee, were to check this site just to hear what the community has to say, after reading your post, they just might think this whole site is just a waste of time and leave.
This site isn’t up for s*** and giggles, it’s a place where people can share ideas with one another, not where people spout off 2 second thoughts and hope other people think they’re funny.
If you had an ounce of legitimacy in your body, I’d cut the bull crap.
I think you need to lighten up pal. This is a WISH LIST, who are you to discredit a man’s wishes and deepest desires? I think it’s safe to assume we all love the Left 4 Dead franchise here, and frankly I’d love to see some of his suggestions (albiet tweaked a little) end up in the award winning series some day. I like the idea of using everyday items as weapons, and some of the poop stuff is good too. Stop taking this website – and yourself – so seriously. Neither are going to be around forever so just enjoy things while you aren’t dead.
Just stating my wish, to have less vulgarity.
and sorry, I guess I was a little cranky.
But if it was bad enough to get edited by an admin, than I couldn’t have been too harsh. But if I was, than I’m sorry. I still feel there should be more legitimate, thoughtful posts, tho. And I really hope this doesn’t start a feud that takes up the next half of the page, I’d like us to focus our attention on something more productive, not 3 people bickering back and forth about who’s opinion was more right.
Each special infected could have its own variant.
A spitter variant could be a male one, and it would spit a different kind of goo. It would be much less like acid and more like tar, slowing survivors that walk through it. It would have an even greater effect on survivors standing where the goo hit when it was spat, completely sticking their feet to the floor, and capped survivors can’t be picked up if spat on, until the tar disappears. This goo also puts out fire, and prevents the area from being alight until it disappears. It would only still be a Spitter because it still relies on the method of area denial.
He would spawn 1/3 every time a normal spitter spawns.
the only thing that bothered me about the previous games was the lack of ability to struggle and to break free once a special infected like the hunter, jockeys or smoker have you, ok i understand that chargers and just to strong to wriggle away from but surely with the other you should be given the choice to button bash in order to throw the jockey off your back or to be able to punch the hunters off of on top of you because when your playing mutations like last man on earth or even when your the last person left its a bit final when caught by such a creature, and i think its really disheartening to only be able to watch as all your life is slowly ripped away from your powerless grasp, no matter how much life or how close to the beginning of the level you are. i just think it would just that extra bit of hope for weaker players but also put more control into the hands of the more skillful players
yes i agree with the thing that we’re unable to struggle on the hands of small special zombies. It bores me as well
how about instead of torches you get oil lamps, so when the horde is just a little too much for you u can throw it as with a molotov but in doing so you lose any light source to light up any dark areas in the future, unless you can resupply in the safe house, which i think would be too easy as it would allow you to have an extra grenade weapon without the difficult choice of light or thinning to horde
I don’t get the hate that’s going on for 5 or more characters. Personally, I’d like to see a stable of like 16 characters, but only up to 4 at a time in-game. And it’s not too much harder for them to code triggers for incidental dialogue between characters from the same set ( Zoey & Francis, Nick & Ellis, etc).
I only have a wish…
Flamethrower!!!
My examples are from L4D, not L4D2:
Easy. L4D could do well from customizable characters. It’s embarrassing to be playing with a bunch of your friends and get stuck with Zoey. Perhaps if characters had stats, it’d help too. We see some of the characters with ‘preferred’ weapons–if we’re to believe that Francis loves having a boomstick or a minigun, then give him high stamina or something to make it easier for him to sit down and tank it out. I see Bill as a DM. Again, give him a skill to make sniping preferred as the player style. However, in the same breath, I say that with customizable characters, you can tailor your party however you wish, so if you want four juggernauts, you can have them.
Eh. I think it’s a good idea.
No i can’t agree well with the Juggernaut armor idea, it’s a bit too heavy and the enemies that we’re fighting only uses their punch, claws, teeth etc. they can barely handle a gun. and most of all Juggernaut armor is heavy so that maybe if the character is punched by common zombies they can fall down easily and when pounced by hunters and/or tank it’ll take a long time to get up
Many people dislike the Tank, and want him gone, but this isn’t because the Tank isn’t a good character, it’s because many people are getting tired of him. Valve solved the “easily avoidable Witch” problem by adding wandering Witches, so all we really need is a Tank variant.
My idea is the Juggernaut. He is someone who was wearing the Bullet proof Riot Control Armor when he became infected, but then mutated into a Tank. Unlike a normal shirt, the Tanks muscles weren’t able to rip through the Armour, making his arms much thinner. Without being able to fully grow his arms, growth instead also occurred in his legs and abs, making him notably tall and fast. Since his arms aren’t as big, he lacks the strength to throw you across the room, and throw rocks, yet still has remarkably hard punches. Since he has no ranged attack (cant throw rocks) he relies on running and catching up to the survivors. Aside from punching, his secondary attack would be grabbing the survivors, and tossing them away. His armor is black, but the bullet proof plates are grey. Shots that would hit the grey plates would have no effect, and bullets that hit the black gaps between the plates would only do 75% damage. Shooting him in the back, much like his uncommon infected counter part, deals full damage, and you can see large muscles ripping out there. He is around 8 1/2 feet tall, and must crouch in order to fit through normal doorways. He is unable to fit in regular crouch-only spots, but can still reach in and grab survivors (has a long reach).
No zombie kids, no killed children ! Otherwise it s a no-never-buy !
There should be more characters available, preferably user-edited.
More weather fx.
Place of action : NYC -> some port -> ship -> marthas vineyard
(Big city escape to rural area, acquire transport, flee to safe haven island, make safe island haven safe…)
Some tactical emplacements just like in L4D pt 1 with big fights.
Maybe add “Infectious bite -> must find antidote or be zombified.
Tactical use of road blocks / blocked doors / long burning fires.
No more characters than 4 or no custom characters…Like I said before its called Left 4 Dead for a reason! They aren’t going to destroy the integrity of the game and well strung together story for people who are just gonna take advantage of and not even be creative with…but the rest of your ideas are bomb!
P.S. All of those ideas I already came up with…and put it in this blog (suspicious face)except for the characters and user edited crap!
Strategies and Balances- This AI system should be added to the game to make it both more challenging yet strategic! Stratigies are, of course, stratigies that help the Survivors fend off the infected better, give them more advantage. While Balances even out advantages by making the game increasingly harder to counter the strategies.
Strategy: The ability to TEMPORARELY barricade doors should be included. On finalies and crescendo events this would serve as a very helpful advantage.
Balance: To counter this Strategy without making it completely irrelevant, simply generate more infected during when the Survivors barricade the door. The more infected attacking the barricade the faster it goes down.Make the Charger break through the barricade in one “ram” or the Spitter “burn” through it. Keep the Witch and Tank out for at least 3 hits! This would also bring the Survivors in one space meaning if a special infected such as a Spitter, Boomer or Tank were to find an opening in this barricaded area it could be the demise of the team. It would also take two Survivors to barricade areas and it takes a little time, so if in a hurry they’ll need cover from the other two Survivors enforcing teamwork!
Strategy: Make sniper headshots extremely effective to special infected including towards boss infected like Tanks and Witches! This also allowing alot of high ground access. This would make the sniper and its zoom function alot more relevant than it has been in the last two games! This also be useful for finalies when the sniper is in extreme high points like in The Stadium finale in L4D2!
Balance: Have the snipers have more kick than normal, bringing the user to crouch for less kick and more accuracy this leaving them open to all special infected attacks! This would make sniping boss infected ,while in a hored attack, difficult requiring cover from the other Survivors.
Strategy: The “dive” ability! Can be used to dodge various things such as projectile attacks and explosions such as Boomer vomit or Tank debris!
Balances: This would most likely result in team abandonment with stupid players thinking that since they perfected the dive ability that they can handle the infected on thier own. This could be countered by focusing the AI generated zombies on the leading survivor futhest away from the group and closest to the safehouse sending a full on assault on the “abandoner”!
CHARACTER WISHLIST:
Dawn – 21, Female, Mixed with African-American and Caucasian, pretty dark hair that goes past the shoulders, good fashion-sense, very attractive girl, nice body to look at.Works as a hairstylist and her specialty is with melee weapons, but is pretty good with guns anyways. Has a sweet and cute personality, but get on her bad side and she’s a completely different person.
Cole – 34, Caucasian Male, works as a mechanic at the local autoshop. Specialty is repairing broken items. Very muscular, a few tattoos, light brown hair. Has that I Dont Give A F*ck additude.
Eric – 25, Hispanic Male, good looks, semi-muscular, works as a DJ at the local nightclub. Has a fun and playful personality.
Specialty is setting up traps or explosives. Has good stamina.
Mason – 42 British Businessman, Caucasian, smart allic, good with coming up with strategies to avoid or take down infected.
Guns:
More Special Weapons- Flame Thrower, Rocket Launcher, Cross Bow and/or Mini Gun!
Primary- Double SMGs(Pro: More Fire Power, Con: As it would require both Left and Right trigger buttons, you can not shove off zombies while holding both guns mean the survivor dual wielding SMGs must be quick on thier feet while fighting surrounding Hordes!)
Melee- By the writing on the walls in the safe houses, it is obvious that there are other survivors, so they should leave behind moded weapons! Like spiked bats(I truly am aware that every zombie game recently has done this but it’s a simple idea that can be evolved)Sledge hammer, and/or Wrench
My Wishlist:
- More realistic grahpics.
- CHARACTER CREATION? Or the ability to apply upgrades to the characters and earn points to buy new outfits, hairstyles, and stylish or crazy or accessories,
- Takes place in Hawaii or a big city like NYC.
-Should be scarier and have a darker tone.
- More advanced zombies.
- Kinect and PlayStation Move support.
- A PSVita version.
- Dialogue selection so when your playing offline you can send out commands or call for help to the AI characters. As well as just carry on a good conversation with them when you’re “safe”.
- Mods for PS3 and 360 versions of the game, like custom maps and campaigns.
- Customizable weapons.
- The ability to CRAWL if you’re downed.
- Drive in vehicles when the time is right.
- Character Develpoment, so if for example you help out a certain character most of the time they tend to be more attracted to you and want to help you out more and they talk to you more. As well as if you’re mean to another character they tend to get you KILLED or just don’t care if you are down or need a first aid kit.
- And the last thing on my wishlist is so that you can re-watch all the actions you made after you complete a campaign. Like they can have a theater mode or something so you can watch how you did so it can be like you made your own movie haha.
I’d also like to see some more depth into the story line, specifically at some points maybe come into contact with the people themselves and not just hear the voices.
As far as the weapons go, if L4D3 is going to be taking place in the states, a mix of civilian and military weapons would probably bring a bit of interesting change, as a low tier weapon a survivor could find a semi-auto rifle or carbine and find the more potent firearms at a location where you would expect to find them ( military outposts, police stations etc. ) and also the carryable ammo limit could vary depending on what weapon you’re using and what tier it is, but still making the top tier guns harder to obtain, iron sights would be a cool feature to use to tighten up accuracy.
some low tier suggestions would be
.the 12 gauge pump shotgun
.something like a hi-point 9mm carbine
.maybe a .22 to have some fun with
.crossbow
.some revolvers would be interesting ( slow reload time )
Mid tier could be
.the auto shotty
.semi-auto m4/m16
.semi-auto AK
.bolt action hunting rifle
.1911 pistol ( please bring it back )
Top tier
.something belt fed ( m60/m240/m249 )
.high capacity auto shotgun ( AA-12 )
.grenade launcher ( stand alone M203 )
borrowing from the dead island way of doing things you could also as would be expected, all these weapons could have all kind of random ” tactical junk ” added to them ( reflex sights, scopes, flashlights, grips etc. ) so every time the player picks up a weapon it’s not the same weapon as the last time, or at least not likely, or possibly the player could have to make do with a damaged weapon.
MAKE A PS3/PS4 VERSION!!!!!!!!!
NOOOO its exclusively on Xbox 360…U mad?
improvements
improve- witch: like if manage to escape witch it will attack another survivor, longer nails and if you get in her way she will slash you that will lose some health
improve- hunter: when he attacks make him cause more damage and even more gore from the survivor when attacked
improve- spitter: put more more and more clothing on her and make her have more health acid patch more deadly
improve- tank: needs to look a little more scary, more fighting moves and able to pick up survivors and throw them around when intecipated
improve- boomer: needs more heath, more damaging fighting moves, and pukes further
2 new special infected
1. the ripper: like the witch but attacks at first, slight more heath then the witch, sight bones in hands are deformed making it look like a cleaver very sharpe , human like making the alusion of looking and acting like a survivor and it cries for help so its female
2. the leaker: shoots blinding goo through boils on its face , acts like the smoker, able to attack while on wall, and melee moves cause a lot of damage to survivor when blinded (temperarly)
needs
1 longer maps
2 more capiagns (like five or six)
3 needs diffrent guns (like hunting, military guns, guns like in those in the mafia .etc)
4 needs more diffrent weather anything expect just clear
5 energy drinks(gives little heath but a small boast of energy)
6 witch could be playable in verse
7 needs to be a little more challenging (like rousts that lead to nowhere, to traps, and more hiding places for speacial infected
8 i like the idea of multiple safe houses
I think they need to work on the melee. I’ve been watching my roommates play Dead Island on PC and the melee in this game is much more realistic, like you’re hitting something. To improve on this concept, I’d take it a step further and give these melee weapons unique downsides. For instance, knives, blades, and sword. When you swing at a zombie a certain way, there should be a chance to get your blade stuck in the zombie body, creating a small moment of panic depending on your current zombie situation. You have the option to leave it there, and hopefully grab it in a few seconds or minutes, or just abandon it if there’s too much going on or you simply don’t need it anymore. It’d also be cool if there could be some combo system for getting weapons stuck. Like maybe lets say you get a machete stuck from a downward swing on a zombies shoulder. Depending on certain things maybe, you should be able to kick that zombie in the torso and yank on the blade to reclaim it. Or maybe another combo where you simply have the option to grasp said blade a certain way, to brace the zombie up so you can pull out your pistol and shoot them for the kill. Physics would be a big thing here to make this all work. But would truly up the bar on a zombie survival experience.
The door mechanics could use a rethink. Don’t have all the doors breakable like the regular ones, not all doors would break into pieces in real life. Instead, have the infected throw their weight against the door, eventually bashing it in. Once a door has been bashed in, it can no longer be shut, nor opened, it would instead swing open/closed if something were to bump it (like the doors in GTA4). The door locking feature could be re-implemented, making locked doors take longer to bust down. Some wooden doors would still have the shattering feature, but half the infected hitting the door would stick their arms through, like they do with Safe House doors.
Doors that you would have to go through would sometimes be locked, requiring you to do 1 of 3 things: 1 Repeatedly slam against/kick the door until it breaks off its hinges (taking lots of time/energy), 2 Quickly bashing the door knob off with the butt of your gun, the noise of which would attract any near by infected (like the clowns), and 3 Quietly (and slowly) picking the lock (not useful if your in a hurry).
A door that you have broken cannot be shut, but if you picked the lock you could shut it AND lock it.
And maybe even have special doors that you barricade, by pushing (Shove 4, continuous hold) boxes, couches, and tables in order to block off the door, possibly being how you must end the safe house.
The Survivors:
Carlos- A young male, 24, Latino gang member form L.A. who is actually really kind and helpful to other members of the group taken that he was move to a New York penitentiary for the murder of five enemy gang members. Later, he states that the reason for his actions is because they were responsible for the murder of his little brother. He is the “leader” of the group.Carlos would have a lot of tattoos and where a jersey repping his gang, The South L.A. Shanks. His first contact with the infected was 3 days after the first infection. Carlos was put isolation for assaulting a policeman. While sleep he awoke to the sound of gunshots, roaring, and screaming. It was something big. It was 3 big somethings! Three of the prisoners had turned into Tanks, broke out thier cells, and begin attacking the wardins and gaurds this plus some of the others turning in to common infected! Carlos hearing all this didn’t know what to do but hope he doesn’t have to find out whats on the other side of the isolation door. He did. It banged at the door and almost broke it down. Then it got distracted by some inmates trying to escape and left to attack them. Carlos then peek out the broken door. Bodies everywhere no zombies in site. He took an AK-47 from a near by dead riot police and escaped into an apocolyptic outside world that he hasn’t seen in 3 years.
Remy- An African American male ,26, chef from New Orleans with a thick Cajun accent. Remy is very cunning but has an extreme phobia of germs. Remy was sent to a culinary completion in New York to launch his culinary career. Due to an “outbreak” of an unknown disease the competition was postponed. During this time Remy work as a chef in a small unknown Italian restaurant called The Sauce.Remy’s first zombie contact was two day after the first infection. He was in the restaurant closing up for the nght and notice his boss was kitchen quite, as his boss never is, he went in to checkon him. His boss then turn around and threw up on Remy! Remy, extremely germophobic, began to panic. Then Remy heard a loud roar followed by thundering banging at the door. It was other infected (Remy’s boss was actually a first stage Boomer, the second being big and swollen) that night he fought of 20 zombies with and electric cutting knife and a pistol his boss keeps on him at all times!
Cindy- An Asian college professor ,28, with military training and a tough personality. Little to peoples’ knowledge Cindy severed in the military. She is very intelligent and teaches Psychology(taken that she has post traumatic stress disorder) courses at the Columbia University. She has a very “sexy librarian” look to her with the agility and skill to match.First incounter with infected: 2 days after the first infection. She grading papers in her class late at night when she saw a student stumble into her classroom. She new they had campus curfew. She asked the student what she was doing in her class and out of her dorm. The student replied with a short shriek, one similar to a velociraptor. She got up from her desk to approach the student and when she did the student bit her. With her hand to hand combat experience she quickly sweeped the student and held her submission. The student then let out a excruciatingly loud scream. It blew out Cindy’s eardrums for a bit knocking on her back in pain. The student then ran off, still screaming into the corridors. When Cindy’s hearing return she her a loud roar. She got up in looked into the corridor and saw a CROWD of infected students running towards her class. She quickly closed her class doors. She knew they wouldn’t last so she climb to the roof where a near by helicopter rescued her!
Dale- An Caucasian male, 33, with a thick New York accent and a bad attitude with a business suit to match. He constantly insults Cindy & Remy but surprisingly likes Carlos. A lot of times he looks at the negative but ironically becomes optimistic at the greatest of challenges (another survivor dying or their death occurs or if another falls) and later he reveals that his pregnant wife was killed in a car accident 2 years ago by a drunk driver. This makes Cindy and him grow closer.Dale is a CEO of a cell phone company called C.E.L.L. Dale’s first incouter: 3 days after first infection. Dale was at an office party when his boss and three other co-workers got sick and were violently throwing up! One of Dales good friends and co-worker, Kenny had went in the restroom to check on one of them and had got bitten. Him and Dale were the only two immune and had fought of the rest of the office workers with office supply. By accidently knocking over water onto a nearby computer, already on, while in a struggle with his zombified boss Dale accidently set off the smoke alarm causing the infected on the outside to come in the building! They fought through some of them with a pistol from one of the security and some office supply and made it to parking lot. They hopped into thier bosses SUV and high tailed out into the streets running over infected. They got onto a semi rural roaded area. While talking about if the zombies would mutate to have special abilities, tragically and ironically, a Spitter spat on the road, melting thier tires, a Smoker’s tounge burst through the window grabbing Kenny and pulling him smooth out he back window of the SUV and Dale, trying to escape to rescue Kenny, seat belt had gotten stuck and a Charger much like a train-to-car effect bash the car into a forested area knocking him unconscious. He awoke in an armored millitary truck with gun pointed at his head and the urgent voice of a masked military official deadpan shouting into a two way walky ” He’s been bitten multiple times but no signs of infection. Do we proceed to terminate! “. Dale feels a sudden loss of anxiety, fear and totall shock when he hears an unknown voice reply ” DO NOT proceed!”
PLEASE don’t make the Midnight Riders the survivors. That truly would take away from the story!
The Survivors should have a disarmed feature, for when they start, respawn, or somehow drop their weapon (hanging on a ledge, pummeled by Charger, etc.) When a survivor doesn’t have a weapon in their primary/secondary slot, they would instead use different types of shoves. Shove 1 (1 tap) would be very slight, less than the normal one using you gun, only pushing back 1-2 infected at a time. Shove 2 (2 taps) would be much like shoving with a gun, pushing back 4-5 infected at a time. Shove 3 (2 taps, holds down @ 3rd tap) would be kick that knocks back fewer infected, but with more force (Spartan Kick), It would also be used to bust down doors that are locked/jammed. Shove 4 (3+ repeated taps) would have the survivor continuously flailing his/her arms forward, as if swatting away a swarm of flies, (Most effective against Hordes).
The Melee Spam meter would be replaced by another meter within your HUD, a Stamina meter. Each level of shoving decreases it, and the higher level of shove would decrease it faster. This meter would also be decreased by other tasks, like running, jumping, climbing, etc. Taking an Adrenaline Shot would greatly increase this meter, and make stay full for longer, meaning taking a shot would NOT make you run fast, it make you ABLE to run for longer periods. And if we were to bring up survivor perks, than the bigger, bulkier survivor (Francis/Coach) would be able to shove more without bringing down the meter, and smaller, quicker survivors (Zoey, Rochelle, Ellis, Louis) would be able to run further/faster without decreasing the meter.
The different types of shoves wouldn’t be accessible while having a gun (except the Spartan Kick). Only when you are empty handed (or with a low side arm) are you able to shove more.
The Primary/secondary weapon slot should have their weapons set up differently, having different tiers of melee weapons (not all being a sidearm). Any melee weapon that takes 2 hands to use should instead be primary (Ax, Baseball Bat, Sword, etc.). Others that are single handed (Pan, Night Stick, Machete, etc.) would still be a side arm. The advantage of having a primary melee weapon instead of primary gun is that side arm melee weapons would break after a number of uses, would do less damage, and be less accurate.
There would also be “low” melee weapons that would take very little stamina to use, and would even be usable while capped. These would consist of Pocket Knives, Kitchen Knives, Screw Drivers, etc. They would do less damage, and have range issues, but have VERY long durability and be easily found in almost any environment (unlike guns). They would also allow you to use the wider range of shoves. These would be less of a slashing motion, and more of a stabbing motion.
They should let you customize your own character that would be awesome!!
When you play versus mode in left 4 dead 3 i want it not to be online in xbox live guys. At least change quick macth so when you play as an infected you are only one player in the campaign and you can fight on your own while other speacil infected are controlling themselves that would be cool!
what i think should improve are the zombies. Everytime you attrack a horde of course zombies come but what about the textures of them. All those zombies are just the same that keep coming and comming. At least design newer face designs so we dont really have to get fed up with killing the same one again and again on each map or building we pass through. I now it would take some time to do but please us and make l4d 3 speacil!
Stop the madness!
KIDS CAN’T BE IN THE F***ING GAME! IT’S AGAINST THE LAW TO KILL CHILDREN IN VIDEOGAMES DUMBASSES THATS WHY IT HASN’T BEEN DONE!
No character creation. That just kills the story and criteria of the game, besides alot of aren’t even creative or original enough to make a real in depth character, you’d just make them into other characters from movies and T.V. shows and other games!
Stop with the 7,8,9,10 survivors! NO ITS CALLED LEFT 4 DEAD FOR A REASON!
Stop with the unorignal submits. Eevn if its the most underground movie, show, or videogame SOMEONE else has seen it before and will recognize it. That just goes to show how unoriginal some of you are!
And stop with the “No Tank” suggestions. Thats stupid. He is the star boss of the game. I do agree he gets annoying but he presents a challenge. Maybe if you were a such good players you would know for a fact that if everyone on the team is shooting at him at once he dies ALOT quicker! Don’t believe me, try it!
If you have’nt presented any of these stupid ideas or suggestions and has been completely original much like XenuLies, Marco or myself! Congrats, your suggestions will most likely be looked over!
Someone had to say it…
TY. It’s nice to be appreciated.
The Murder or Scarecrow- He’s an infected with a trench coat and red glowing eyes. A boss infected like the Witch, when shot at or disturbed, open its trench coat releasing a murder ravenous, infected Crows that peck at the survivors flesh but can be meleed to death or quickly eradicated with molotov cocktails or pipe bombs or a few shotgun burst! Upon this infecteds death, he can either release a crap-load of these Crows upon the survivors or release them, shrieking into the sky, alerting the hored. Or both on expert mode!
I had a similar idea involving an infected that released bees.
There should be an infected called the Gobbler. He can look frail and emeciated, almost skeleton-like. He would blend with the common infected but slower. When he gets close enough to a survivor without being killed, it opens its mouth and releases black tentacles that pull in a survivor and traps them in his stomach where his stomach acid, much like the Spitter’s spit, eats away at the survivor! He the uses his tentacles to form a sort of support. They grab onto objects to swing aways or they form leg-like supports for a quick escape(Sorta like how Dr. Octopus from spider man moves). In order to free the captured survivor without harming the one inside they must shoot the infected in the head or its tentacles!
Improved Jockey- When he jumps on a survivors back, have them make the survivor shoot around recklessly, hitting the other survivors!
Improved Spitter- Have her acidic spit actually burn hole into some weak foundation like walls, for her easy access, or thiin floor to make a survivor fall through!
Improved Charger- HAVE HIM BREAK THROUGH WALLS! (this would add a horror/ surprise effect to the atmosphere, like a cresendo moment!)
Improved Hunter- Have him actually taking bites out of the survivors; more gore!
Improved Smoker- Upon his death, make the smoke more fog like; smog!
and if you guys use my idea…
The Injector- Have him crawl on cielings!
(The Injector: A special infected with syringe like fingers, low health but extremely swift that charges at survivors much like a charger. Although survivors are immuned to the common strain of the “Green Flu” it injects a mutated strain into the survivors system with its syringe-like fingers. If rescued before death the survivors health meter would appear purple and at 50% and plummit by 2% every second. Once health reaches 0% survivor changes into a special infected called the Fallen, a common infected with the endurance of a Tank, agility of a Hunter and speed of a common infected! If death occurs during the attack, the survivors is automatically is changed into a Fallen. If infected and not changed yet, killing off the survivor is an option(taken that while infected the head of the survivor is weaker than usual) although a Vaccine, which would be placed in your pills inventory, would slow the plumitting of your infection/health meter or used a First Aid Kit to reverse the infection all together! This would add a sacrificial or even a apocolyptic sorrow element to the game!)
AND FOR GOD SAKES IMRPOVED A.I.- If a team split up, split it even or have the computer go with the weakest survivors or have the infecteds’ goal be to prey on the weak or pull the strongest away from the rest of the group…And make it to where the game completely THRIVES on teamwork!
Like “two-manned” missions!
P.S. when infected and health is low they should add a nice heart beat sound effect to increase the tension of the situation! Make it more of a near-death feeling!
ur stuff that u said is goood but what do you think about a special infected that is in a straight jacket and rams u or somthing like that or something like a slenderman if u dont know what that is look it up
I do know what that is…Its on Dead Island!
The story line should have a new element, like how L4D2 added CEDA, L4D3 would add yet another new group. Some sort of CEDA-Military Collaboration {CMC}. This new group would be in charge of studying and, through military issue equipment, capturing live infected for study. We can see that the Military and CEDA are already doing things similar to this {CEDA is collecting Bile samples, Military is holding Tanks within train cars}. The CMC would have some sort base/laboratory that a campaign would center around. Within this campaign there would be many crescendo events like the Train Car, where you must open infected holding cells in order to proceed. The beginning of this campaign wouldn’t start you there, the first few chapters would take you through a town that the CMC has put under quarantine, in order to apprehend as many infected as possible. This facility would bear resemblance to the Aperture Science Labs from Portal. The CMC Agents would be the uncommon infected. The Agents would be semi-fire/bullet proof {in order to capture infected}, and they would drop special weapons designed for combating infected. My idea of those weapons would be some sort of tranquilizer gun that uses a special Novocaine/Neurotoxin to stun and slow infected, making them killable with just a shove, another idea is some sort of “squirt gun” made to fire Bile at the infected, it would use bile jars as ammo.
Omg those are such creative yet intelligent and original ideas…awesome! Check out mine for the survivors…alot of typos but you’ll understand it on the wish list! add some suggestions!
Just some random wishes/ideas:
1- A special infected that would turn one of the survivors for a limited time into a zombie attacking the other players.
2- A flying infected that would carry a survivor away or drop it when it reaches a certain height causing big damage (yes i admit it would be useless in buildings but this one would only appear in open parts of the maps or as a special event).
3- Engaging hostile groups of armed survivors (that may give some interesting moments with zombies and infected joining the party).
4- A giant mansion map where zombies or other creatures would jump out from the dark or windows (remember the dogs in resident evil 1) randomly to add some scary moments.
Left 4 Dead 3 should have a larger variety of weapons, but you should not be able to find guns as easily because there aren’t always guns on the ground. More melee weapons should found and it should be rare to find a gun. I liked the idea of a gun shop and I think there should be a military base in one of the chapters.
There should be more campaigns and a huge campaign where they travel around the world for different reasons. America could become overrun with zombies and they might have to go to Europe. They should climb the Eiffel tower or something that would be fun. They should go to Asia, In China there are so many people there so there would be so many zombies there and there could be heaps of hordes. In China they should have to fight so many zombies at the end of that chapter because in Left 4 Dead 2 there wasn’t really that many zombies at one time. I think they should go to Australia maybe to one of the beaches. So the main campaign should be a massive world campaign where they travel across different continents because the campaigns so far have been a bit short.
I like the idea of more routes to take other than just the same safe house but I think safe houses should all have weapons and health packs so you can restore you people’s health.
I think you should keep the Witch, Tank, Boomer, Spitter, Smoker, Jockey, Hunter, Charger and especially the horde. I think you should bring the screamer back but when she is alerted like the witch she should scream and keep screaming until you kill her but she doesn’t run away. Then we will have a fair chance to kill and she will have a fair chance to call heaps of hordes.
I like the idea of the Breeder and she could make Infant zombies that choked you and were hard to hit because they are small but not 25 hits or something ridiculous like that. As well I love the ability she already has maybe she could have both abilities.
I think there should be an Infecter and it infects the player after a certain amount of time and you can only heal them with some type of medicine. If they turn into a zombie they should be a random special zombie or you could make a new one they could be. They can’t actually play as it afterwards but they could watch it as the attacked your friends. This zombie should be really smart and should maybe be able to wield weapons except only the weapons the player was originally wielding.
I also think if they go to the beach they should be a water zombie and maybe a smoker could drag you into the water and then the water zombie maybe similar to a shark attacks you.
I think it would be good if there was something larger than the tank and maybe if the boomer could belly flop on players that would be funny and more entertaining.
I would love it if there were more survivors and if you found new survivors on the way and you could change players at each safe house.
If you could add at least a few of these features that would be great, I will love whatever you make but please add as many zombies as you can and don’t replace any just make new ones, Thank you
I have many ideas for left 4 dead 3!
for the first campaign you should have 4 new characters, Mark, Jay, Lilly and Billy or for short Tracker since he is good at tracking down other zombies and has a good eye too. But enough about the characters. It should take place in a large underground cave where after the zombies rade the citys of Las vegas your only escape to San franscico is the cave systems where the army or ceda had used to evacuate other survivors until they came from beneath the walls. Dang Zombies! And the new speacil infected of my opnion is the radius it is a small little creature or zombie that dwells beneath earth searching for blood and their new target is the survivors! They have 3 legs and two hands and they have 6 eyes and act mostly like lurking spiders and its body should have lots of monster bites to give it the feeling that it may bite you! any way back to the place in this cave their should be small lights and they should look like miners in a cave and they should have new weopens so cool like a rocket launcher. The cave should only be two levels long and after that you walk into san franscico and next thing you know zombies and other speacil infected will come and you will have to go through famous casinos and monuments and run into the bridge of san franscico and go to burgerkings and other places like movie theaters and go through celberty houses and stuff and at the last level you will have to survive just like all the other levels but this time in the big holly wood sign where many things can lurk through the mountins pretty awsome!
The game should be a cross country trip from New York to California! One finale should be to fend off zombies to get a ferry started to get to the Statue of Liberty where a helicopter is located for your evacuation but thats just the beginning. Once on the small island you have to fight off zombies to get inside of the statue after a fire starts at the base and you must fight your way up the statue before the fire catches up to the survivors through hordes upon hordes of infected survivors all the way to the top where the helicopter is and upon getting in the statue collapses into a fiery wreckage! And in California there should be a part where you have to manuvuer your way through Hollywood studio sets where the light, sounds, and studio laugh tracks play and attracts hordes of zombies! This would also add an element of suprise because there could be a horror movie set where there are animatronic zombies and you cant distanguish them from the real ones! There should also be a part when passing through Chicago, it snows really bad forcing the group to stay close or lose thier way!
Wishlist:
1. More and more varied maps – maps with multiple routes to get to safehouses, and as one user mentioned, potentially even multiple safe-house types (with different types of gear in each).
2. Weather effects to add confusion and force caution – fog, rain, snow and potentially even hail. Fog I think would especially work and create that fear element, as hordes or specials wouldn’t be seen until they were right on top of you.
3. A. Clearly everyone thinks there should be new specials – I’d like to see specials that appeared to be normal infected, but who had special powers, that way you never really know they’re a special until they’re kicking your butt. Again – this keeps the surprise/fear element.
B. New bosses besides the witch and tank – both are pretty predictable at this point. the “haggard” sounds pretty cool, but I’d like to see something totally new to replace the witch. A super creepy kid would be great (why are there literally NO children as infected in the current games?!?!?). Who wouldn’t be freaked out by a creepy little kid that can one shot you??
4. The ability to pass more than just pills or adrenaline would be nice. Passing throwables would be cool too.
5. A. Totally new weapons…like, barely ANY of the weapons that have been in the last two games.
B. I’d love to see the game be more melee intensive, and make guns into something harder and more rare to attain. Let’s face it, in real life there aren’t just piles of guns and ammo laying all over the place, but there are things like tools (hammers, hand axes) and sporting goods (bats, etc.) and kitchen knives…that sort of thing.
C. Revolvers to replace the Glocks and H&K’s might be an interesting idea.
6. Maybe add in the ability to pick up random bits of “armor” (sporting gear like hockey pads, riot helmets, etc.) that may reduce damage a bit to make up for having less hardcore weaponry and balance the odds.
Anyway…that’s my wishlist. I’m pretty sure I’ll dig the game even if it’s exactly like it already is, but I’d love to see some of this stuff happen.
great idelike that improvement
thats a nice wish list
Both games were excellent and there’s not much room for improvement. I would like to see a more defined and detailed storyline, and more in-depth characters. Other than that, new weapons and zombies are undoubtedly going to appear in the next chapter. Can’t wait to play.
Local splitscreen for the PC version. At least 2 players would be nice.
Make the zombies eat survivors instead of beating them. In gameplay, use inspiration from the TV series: “The Walking Dead”
Just a thought, an uncommon infected in a bomb squad outfit would be interesting.
i think valve should make l4d3 a multiplayer thing to because i can have the players at my house but we have to take
l4d3 should have more maps and something new like special moves and upgrades like shoving a pipe bomb down a zombies throat. for the maps i think it should be in new york big hordes, more blood also you can switch guns, second hand guns with another l4d3 character and on xbox live you can play as the characters on l4d1,l4d2,or l4d3 and giveing a badass story line where all the survivors meet up with the characters from l4d1 and l4d2 it would be epic.
i think valve should make l4d3 and not make Nemesis as the tank because 1.valve would have to pay a lot of money to the creators of resident evil.2.its not a well idea they just asked for Nemesis to use in l4d3,so its not a well thought.I’m 13 yrs who likes l4d i will support valve to make l4d3,be for my mom has a heart attack because she likes it to just as much as i do.valve all i say is don’t use Nemesis as evolved version as the tank you;ll probably get a lot of money from well thought idea.also i say get some more weapons if you guys do make l4d3 like,mp5,desert eagle, glock 23,etc. and make the zombies/special infected more interest for each bored like for example you’ll have these new l4d3 zombie/special infected on this bored (no mercy) then the next bored (BLOOD HARVEST) you’ll have A different zombie/special infected.
what gave you the idea they were gonna use Nemesis?
Most of all, I would like new infected and new maps. First of all, some of the new infected would be map specific. Also, the maps would once again be way darker. My first infected idea is The Shark. He would appear only in swamp-ish or ocean-like maps, and would zoom through the water aiming for one of the survivors and once he got one he would rush off the screen and start beating them. My next infected idea is The Floater. She would only appear in an amusement park map, she would be a little girl with a balloon bonded to her arm, she would stealthily move around and eventually grab one of the survivors. Once she grabs a survivor she would quickly start floating up with the survivor and drop them for a great deal of damage (The damage differs based on how high she goes). To drop her, you could shoot her balloon. While she would be easy to kill, she could kill your people very easily. My third idea has not been named and has not been developed very much. He would be a sword instructor who would be impaled by all over by swords. He would wear rusted armour. He would move very slowly like a tank and would do massive damage with his giant sword and would be able to hit multiple people with it. To kill him you would have to slowly shoot off his armour and then you could actually shoot him which would kill him easily. My fourth and final idea has once again not named or developed fully. He would appear in forest-esque areas. He would travel quickly underground and would be noticeable when underground as he would be kind of lifting up the ground and would make rumbling. He would try to get under the survivors and come out and wrap his several tentacles around the survivor and and damage them like always. He would have the same amount of health as the hunters and the smokers but when underground, a bullet or two would take him out easily. Anyways, I hope my ideas interest you. Have fun my fellow zombie slayers!
The flashlight mechanic should be much different. Have them NOT on your guns, but as an item you use (has its own slot), this flashlight would eventually run out. The client-side lighting should be fixed, so other survivors can see what your light is illuminating, this allows one survivor to light up all the infected in a dark room and have his team mates cover him (cant shoot while holding flash light). But this isn’t the only way to see in the dark, there would be different “Tiers” of lights. Tier 1 would be a regular flashlight that i just explained, and also flairs. Flairs would be place able any where, and will illuminate everything the room, while also attracting any near by zombies. Tier 2 would be a type of Ammo upgrade that you can apply to any gun, much like Lazier Sites. These lights would never run out of batteries, but can only be seen while having your gun out (can’t see while holding medkit, grenade item, etc.). Third Tier would be a Chest Light. When equipped, it would have the same light physics as we do now (using a light while not holding a gun). The chest lights batteries recharge when turned off. By adding reasons other than Witches to turn your light off, people will have to be conservative of when they are using their light.
find it strange that, not only is there ALWAYS a safe house within reach, but its also the ONLY route you can take. My idea is that there could be different types of safe houses. You can tell which type one is by its color of door, and you find your way to each by following the corresponding graffiti on the walls. This could result in being able to choose what your next chapter is, eventually leading up to the same finale. Each “safe House” would only go to the next chapter if every survivor is in the same one. Each route can be used strategically, by going one way you avoid a crescendo event, but have to walk a much greater distance into the level, increasing the number of hordes/tanks you would face.
The ones with the red door would be like the normal ones, and would be the only ones called Safe Houses, they would be where you get health packs, there is NO ammo pile in these, and only tier 1 weapons can spawn in them. Their graffiti would be the regular ‘house’ shape with the medical “t” inside it.
Next would be Strong Holds. These would have Blue doors, and be stocked with weapons and ammo. These would be the only way of getting Tier 2 weapons early on, and the only way to get Tier 3 at all (Grenade Launcher, M60, etc.) The down side is that by using this checkpoint, you don’t get Health Packs for the chapter (but you do get ammo packs/upgrades), think of it like Whitaker’s gun shop(minus the medkit inside). The graffiti that you would follow to get to this checkpoint would be the same ‘house’ shape but with a bullet/shield inside it, instead of the medical “t”.
Third would be a Bunker/Shelter. It would have a Green/Yellow door, and would hold lots of miscellaneous supplies. In it, you would find: pills, adrenalin shots, Tier 1 weapons, ammo piles, and grenade items. The graffiti for these would be either the “Y” shaped radiation symbol, or a “!” inside a triangle.
I never really considered the multiple safe-house type idea…but I kind of dig that – nice suggestion!
here is my ideas
1: survival verses
2: Add zombies called: the buzzer and the bomber infected
3: more campigns in the game like 10 or more
4: and i’ve heard people say the they should have a create your own character. That would work in the multiplayer, but not in single player.
you are right man
Yeah I want new features, like more weapons. And more special infected. I want a new zombie, all the zombies combined. Tank+witch+charger+spitter+smoker+hunter= happiness
. Another good one would be Goliath, bigger than the tank. Towering at a highth of10’5, he will be the monster of all zombies. Another good one is to have a zombie that is very small and pettiet, but very hard to kill. It will take 25 shots to kill it. The size of an infant baby, this zombie is very powerful. It can choke you out in 30 seconds. They will be 1’12 in highth. They will be the most feared zombies ever.
I agree there should be a small INFECTED
