Wish List
What features do you want to see in Left 4 Dead 3? There is always room for improvements to make each Left 4 Dead game better than before. Are there special infected you want to see carried over from the first two L4D’s, or how about removed all together?
Valve is great when it comes to listening to fan’s opinions and tries to satisfy us all. Fans wanted to see more melee weapons such as chainsaws, swords and bats and they got just that in Left 4 Dead 2. Now is your chance to voice your likes and dislikes and tell us what you want to see in Left 4 Dead 3 when it gets released.
How do you guy like the current weapons and items available? Do you want more or less weapons to choose from?
I would like to see Left 4 Dead 3 go back to darker maps and try to bring back the scary atmosphere the original has over the sequel. Give me more maps like Blood Harvest where survivors have to fight through dense woods and more endless cornfields.
Fan Submitted Ideas
Here’s an idea for a new SI. He’s Called the Eel, because of his ability to shock the survivors. He would be an electrician/Construction worker who wears large black rubber boots, a leather glove on his left hand, and has his right hand bare, with his right sleeve rolled up and a bandaged wound near his elbow (possibly how he got infected).
He would be wearing ear protection, like the other worker infected, along with some bulky protective goggles. These would alter the way he sees the survivors. Instead of seeing their silhouettes through the walls when the move, shoot, or speak, He would detect their electrical fields the same way a shark does for its prey, (and everything else he sees is just in black&white). This Special way of seeing also allows him to see where there are other sources of electricity are, like power boxes/transformers/and even downed power lines, which he can use to quickly recharge his attack.
He attacks the survivors by grabbing them on by the arm, shoulder, or neck (depending on where he’s positioned), The survivor would then yell out, unable to move, before loosing all their strength and falling to the ground. If the survivor has been dealt more than 50% HP through shock damage, they would be instantly capped, and if dealt more than 75 damage in one shock they would die instantly from a heart attack. And the longer a survivor has been shocked, the more side effects would follow: Small amounts would cause slight shivering which would make the cross hair wobble, and longer shocks would cause stiffening in the muscles, slowing their speed and reducing their melee damage.
make bill as a spcail infeted that will look alsome
I think L4D3 should have more gore, horror, and jump factors.
New Special Infected like the Screamer or Siren. I had idea for one called the The Leecher, The Fly, The Swimmer. The Leecher pretty much grabs you and bites into a survivor and absorbs your health until your free from its grasp or until death. The Fly is a person who got an extreme mutation and give them wings that can allow them to swoop up survivors and drive their sharpened tail into them or drop them from a high distance causing incapacitation and The Swimmer was more aquatic(obviously) but it’s an amphibious infected that can walk on land or hid in water and attempt to drain a survivor. Which L4D3 will have to include a swimming feature to cross like lakes and whatnot but only melee weapons can be used in the water. More campaigns with creepy and dark locations like fighting zombies in a cavern or prison. For survivors I think they could be more ethnic instead of American or African-American. Like Asian or Hispanic could be cool I suppose.
There needs to be ways of customizing your weapon, these things would rarely be already found on the guns; you would have to equip them like you would a laser sight. Most guns would be able to have a max of 2 upgrades but there would be some exceptions. These upgrades could include:
Laser Sights (obviously): These would increase the accuracy of your gun.
Silencer: This would make it so your shots wouldn’t alert nearby infected. It would also slightly decrease your guns range. Some high tier/ military guns would already have these.
Flash Lights: Instead of already being on every gun, most guns would start out without them. The would act the same as the normal flash lights do now, except that you would only see the light if you have that gun out. Most low tier weapons would already have these.
Scope: As its name would suggest, this would allow you to zoom in.
Some upgrades would have some restrictions, and some would clash with others. Any gun would be able to have a flashlight on them, no gun can have a flashlight & Laser Sight together, laser sights can go to any gun except side-arms (pistols), Scopes/silencers can only be put on high tier guns or any low-grade machine gun.
Most guns would already have a built in upgrade, like every sniper rifle would have a scope, the silenced sub-machine gun is already silenced, etc.
The reason there wouldn’t be such an extensive amount of gun upgrades (like in CoD) is because spending an hour customizing you gun to your exact specifications would be pointless in a game where you’r constantly switching out your gun for something bigger and better, or just to get more ammo.
lol i love the idea of the silencer to be used as to upgrade weapon to my idea before it be cool to earn extra experince at the loading screen at every end of the level.hope u guys know what I mean :/
make a weapon costumation like for adding thermal scope, laser sight, dual mag,red dot, grenade laucher(example-m203).this is only can be edit after picking the map n survivor.new weapon like dual smg,m16/ak47 with grenade launcher,m249,maybe some rocket lauchers, dual knife n it can be throw.
Make new gameplay for the player play the infected n stop the survivors to the rescue point.n then make the free big roam maps for shooting mny horde or zombies as u like.
Make a survivor costume skin for choose.the survivor can pick camoflage suit somewhre n it can be seen or spot after boomer vomit him(maybe only 1 camoflage suit can be use for 1 survivor only).
Make a new map for a rural village example farmer area or smething like tht.make there is other survivor can join for survive and it health bar is above them for 4-10 survivor n of cause thre will be more zombies n hordes!!
Please review my request, tht my wish… Pls
my l4d3 ideas:
1.being able to create a costom campain map for the xbox360
2.new weapons like, the crossbow, famas, galil, scorpion, throwing knives, sludge hammer, and weapon skins.
3.XP bar, and upgrades to survivors and guns.
4.better realistic graphics.
5.a new free roming mode which player are able to roam around killing the hordes of the dead.
6.once you shoot the zombies on the leg they should crawl
7.detailed infected, and more variety of infected
8.using the right anolog stick to shove zombies, and the lt botton to aim your sight, just like cod.
HellO!
My Left4Dead3 ideas are these:
They should make the campaign the fun game it is!
But they should make more changes to the Realism mode. I would like a game similar to The Walking Dead. Realistic zombies and less special infected zombies in Realism mode. You should be able to sneak past the zombies in some situations and gunshots should attract the zombies more often but hordes should be less likely and when they come the better option should be to hide. This will make more fear in the game and more realism. They should have a larger group and sometimes have a base camp where they stay for a long time doing missions like collecting items and scavenging and recruiting survivors and other things. Guns should be more rare and come in more reasonable places, and sometimes in a gun bag or something so you get a lot at once. You should be able to get more survivors like 12 and sometimes 40 or 50 at camp but you wouldn’t send that many people on missions as many of these people will be women and children and babies. There should be day and night as well and you should be able to choose where you want to go, sometimes to different countries and continents like Europe and Asia maybe in China, France and Australia.
my wishlist is to have an all new setting taking it to the west but i cant be bothered going through the details of the levels and campains first of all left 4 dead can do a weapons upgrade will survivors can earn modifications to weapons(more ammo, laser sights and explosive rounds always) insted of finding all these equipment but there will still be there of course. new items(ANTI BLIE BIO CREAM:resist to boomer bile and spitter goo, BULLETPROOF VEST:100+ health added, SPITTER GOO AMMO:burns infected decomposing them) for the weapons there going be a 3rd perk allowing you to weild 1 melee weapon.1 main rifle and the other is sidearms(bazooka and chainsaw will take over sidearm perk(SAWN OFF SHOTGUN,M32 GRENADE LAUNCHER,REVOLER sidearm,BAZOOKA 1ROCKET each use AND THE TWO UZIS CAN BE DUEL WEILD)there should be two new infected the 1.GASSER who chases after when ready he will gas the area and runoff when shot he will burst into flames maybe he represents a zombie both infected by the virus and oil he might have worked in a coal mine. 2.the SCREAMER this time he will act like the witch laughing in his maddening state when he as heard a gunshot this will allow to change to melee weapons he will countilosly scream earshoting at the survivors he can only call in nearby infected and in every 2 mins a rush of horde come in. i’ve fought about the survivors there should be classes to them here it is (1.DONALD:THE VETERAN wep. HUNTING RIFLE texan framer former rodeo president until he lost his boy so hes been a round to tell people what he knows best 2.CHELSEA:THE CHEERER wep. BASEBALL CLUB college cheerleader shes not the hot bimbo type but shes firce and welcoming bright and smart but she looks at for the weak willed show affication to her mates 3.MARTEZ THE SHEILD wep. DUEL UZIS irrogant and a bad attitude this once drug cartel knows ways he to others as no respect until he meets the other at least to show respect is to block and blast them 4.JARED:THE HANDY wep. RELVOER he is the most selfish cunning papprazzi photographer and on the edge of suicide until things changed now hes trying to earn life back and to repay forgivness even hes own freinds but one thing he knows giving someone a hand
PREQUEL!!!!!! Who’s with me? they need a prequel that brings back the old survivors. Show-movie graphics too! and everybody (Louis, Zoey, Bill and Francis would all have their starting out things like displayed in the first of the sacrifice comic thingy. Then all the old cast would meet up and yeah. I also think they should travel over a snowy mountain to get to mercy hospital or something. BRING BACK THE OLD SURVIVORS AND THE ATMOSPHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first one on the list, #6.
THIS is the zombie game i want to see. An open world, a combination of the original L4D, Fallout New Vega’s Hardcore mode and open world, and perhaps just a little of the color schemes and the moods of the four original Call of Duty zombie maps. In addition, elements from online games like Shattered Colony: The Survivors, the Last Stand 1-3, and Rebuild.
You should be able to recruit survivors and have them level up. Also, the leveling system should be different from current RPGs and the traditional Perks system. One aspect of this could be a quiz of forty or so questions randomized out of a hundred to create a character with approximately your knowledge of skills and abilities (for example, “What do you do to heal a sucking chest wound?” “What is the caliber of XXX firearm?” for slight bonuses for medical and firearms skills at the beginning of the game. These would automatically level up without any indication. For instance, you start with horrible accuracy, a slow reload time, and constant misfires/jams. After using firearms for an extended period, you gain speed, accuracy, and maybe even a very small auto aim “instinct”. Or when using melee weapons, you gain a kill move to kill a lone zombie, and after constant use you can finish off the last four or five zombies in a third person view with special kill moves and get bonus speed, damage, and accuracy. There should be scarce ammo and food requirements which weaken or even kill you if you don’t eat or drink, to keep you from barricading yourself without consequences. A damage system where specific body parts are wounded in specific ways (bullet wound, broken bones, cuts) and must use time and medical supplies to heal them and suffer movement, damage, carrying capacity, or health penalties. Finally, there should be a hardcore/realism mode with no HUD, no crosshairs, and semirandom diseases that could be caused by environmental factors. A single bite or scratch can kill you, but armor will help with this. That is MY desired zombie game.
It’ll probably not happen, and definitely won’t be L4D3, or likely even from Valve, but it would be a truly awesome game with a great deal of replayability.
As a side note, in both the aforementioned game and in L4D3, a character customization system should be included, because the traditional four characters kinda suck. I mean, theres always a black character, two white dudes, and a woman. I hated playing as anyone but my favorite character. But if you make your own character, you will never be upset. And i don’t mean Fallout NV’s character customization I’m talking Rainbow Six’s or WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw or Skyrim’s. Full customization of almost every aspect of the character.
As a second side note, a great zombie game similar to that concept is zombiepandemic.com. My only complaint is the fact that it is a text based game. Redesigned as a FPS it would be SWEEEET.
try Day-Z
They should have the screamer!
For me:
More weapons ! More weapons means more fun. Because Left 4 Dead is more oriented on that direction, creators should add funny weapons: a Shovel, pick, hockey cross. For guns : Miniguns, Swat Shield.
I think they also change the survival mod. I rather prefer game with different rushes than only one endless. The best would be to able to interact with the environment and create barricades (can be destructed by zombies / to avoid to create impossible to reach area).
Story idea : I realy like the idea of a school. The story could be nice. After the characters should go in different area like School – City Downtown – Village – Farm – Montain : They will try to find a survival camp and finaly find an crowded survival zombies village. Place to realize a massacre.
If it’s also possible to avoid having only one way to follow, It will be so cool online.
The third left for dead should be in the japan setting and the four characters should be like 2 highschool students (a smart boy and a cheerleader/clumsy girl), the janitor and a teacher

Ok bear with me here is my idea ok i love the game but i hate it when ppl run ahead or fall behind so i got a cool way 2 fix that ok i understand ppl like looking for stuff an thats cool as long as you have one or more team mates following you so here it is my idea is that since bill died i say we make him a new special infected plus it would be cool seeing someone we all know an love be on the other side of the game now here is where i bring both my idea’s into game play ok for expl:ok first bill will slowly follow the players around each level pretty much the hole game an yes he try to attack you but he not really trying yea he be rright behind yo but very slow untill something gets him mad then he is very fast like the witch an other infected can p*** him off 2 but he only gose after who made him mad human or infected so it like the black sheep in the game a how the humans p*** him off if one walks 2 close 2 him like the witch but she dosent follow you an he dont like when there is only one by them self like lets say there is 3 ppl right next 2 each other than another way 2 far back or way 2 far ahead he will scream the persons name like this ZOOOeeyy!!! 2 let you know which one he mad at then he will either run ahead of the humanssoviver
On Vs U Can Play As A Wich U Can Sit Down And Cry Or Stand Up And Run Fast As S*** But That Will Be S*** Reply 4 More Things U Can Do As The Wich
although it isn’t real obvious, the infected in left4dead are, or at least can be, broken up into 3 distinct classes. There’s offensive/versatile: Can be best used anywhere, Strategic/environment-based: attacks do much better/worse depending on what is around it, and defensive/supportive: are best used to aid in other infected attacks; do not directly hurt the player.
The Hunter and the Jockey would be the versatile ones, because their attacks are effective anywhere. The Smoker and Charger are the strategic ones, because their attacks can be strengthened by the environment (pulling or charging someone off a tall place does much more damage than they usually do). And lastly, The Boomer and Spitter are the supportive ones, because they work best to add confusion while other teammates attack.
With this in mind, it should help you think of what infected ideas would work, and what wouldn’t work, and let you know what alterations could be made to your ideas.
I’ve changed some of my infected ideas accordingly. They go like this:
Camando: This is an infected military personnel who is able to pick up and use any gun to shoot you with, but only down to the end of its clip, he can’t reload. He would be strategic, because he is only as powerful as the gun he carries, he relies on whatever weapon is in his environment.
Crazy Runner: This infected has the ability to run at incredibly fast speeds. His Primary attack would simply be to run. As he runs by the survivors, the would shove them aside, hurting them and causing them to stumble, and running straight into a survivor would make him shove them with greater force, knocking them to the ground. He would have large boots that allow him to keep running on any terrain (mud, water, snow, etc.). know when he’s near by when you hear clack of his boots, and also from his heavy breathing when he runs. He would be a versatile class because his speed and ability to get around makes him usable in all environments.
Slimer: This infected would be covered in an extremely sticky tar-like gel, which he makes by sweating. This gel would allow him to climb and stick to any surface, even walls and ceilings. From his vantage point, he would be able to spew lots of this tar either onto the ground, creating a puddle that would slow survivors walking through it, spew this tar up a wall to create a surface that any other infected can climb on (makes an infected ladder), or even spew it straight onto the survivors, sticking them into the ground. This tar would eventually ware off after a minute or so. He would be supportive, because his abilities alone won’t hurt the survivors, but he can be easily combined with other special infected.
I think the next 4 survivors should be 1 survivor of each branch…a marine, an army soldier, a navy seal, and a air force pilot…it be more interesting because each other them have their own special training n put together they can survive the fight…n the game should be longer n we should be able to travel from state to state…for example: we start out in Washington n the ending will be in Miami or even Hawaii….
L4D3 could have a completely new way of how side-arm/primary weapons are set up. I think weather or not is primary should be based on what other weapon its compared to. Like if the 1st weapon i get is a small knife, it would be primary, then when i pick up a pistol, pistol is primary and knife is side arm. after i pick up an Uzi, i drop the knife, pistol is now side arm. This could continue until I get to a point when i have an Uzi as my side arm with an AK-47 as my primary. Weapons of equal (or near equal) strength cannot be used in this fashion, ex: you can’t have both an AK and an M-16, or an AK and a SPAS, etc. The upside to having two powerful tier 2-1 weapons should be obvious, but there is also a disadvantage to this. When you’r capped, you can’t fire guns that are too big (that’s why you always switch to pistols), so you would be powerless on the ground.
And if I had to think of any sort of new weapons, I would start off with some new super low-grade weapons, like small pocket and kitchen knives, and even fighting bare-handed! If there were guns that were lesser than uzi/shotgun, but stronger than a pistol, it would probably be a Mac-10 and a sawed-off shotgun (its lesser because its extremely close range). As for really good weapons, I think a multi-barreled shot gun (a Hydra) would be awesome, especially if it had 4 cross hairs that spanned across the screen (and maybe have an achievement for getting 4 head shots with 1 pull of the trigger)
a level where you and the other survivors are on a boat, and zombies are are climbing the side and you fight them off until you get to where ever the next level is!!!!!!!1
a shot that not only increases your health but increases your health copasity
I got some ideas for some new uncommon infected:
“Juiced” infected/ Junkie: This infected has no shirt on,he has lots of scaring around his wrists (suggesting drug usage), he has a band tied around his arm just past his elbow (also suggesting drug usage), and he has several syringes sticking out of his arms and torso area. He is also noticeably jittery, like a Jockey. His unique ability is that, by being ‘enhanced’ by the drugs, he can move much faster, and he does more damage with each hit. He also can drop an adrenaline shot upon death.
Genius/ Nerd: He wears a glasses/ a tie/ something that would let you know he’s smarter than other zombies. Their ability is that they do things much more intelligently than other zombies. When you throw a Molotov, they would go around the fire or wait on the other end. They would observe pipe bombs curiously, if they don’t get killed by the blast, they learn and run away from them next time they see a pipe bomb. They would also avoid the most powerful team mate, instead going after the one with least health/ weakest weapon.
Oil Men/ Grease Monkeys: These infected are dressed as Oil rig workers/ mechanics (whatever campaign they’re in). They are covered in grease/oil, they would blind you when the hit you, like a Mud Man would, but when you set them on fire, they would go up in flames, but not die. They would only take slow, minimal damage from the fire. And while on fire, they would also do fire damage to you, and they would have a small chance of setting other things on fire.
Demo-Man: This would be a military agent who was put in charge of blowing up/ demolishing certain structures that could not just be easily bombed by plane (like an underground subway, sewer, etc.) in order to stop the infection from spreading. But, like every other military agent in the field, he got infected. He would have C4 strapped to his belt and a detonator in his hand. Every time he hits you, there would be a 25% chance that he explodes on you. He also would drop C4 upon death.
Eater/ Feeder: These would be what most would consider to be a stereotypical zombie. These ones would be found gnawing on dead corpses, they would very bloody, and be more hunched over when standing (due to constantly crouching over bodies). They would blind your screen with blood when they hit you, and they also would have more health and speed (they get more energy from eating). These would not spawn with regular hoards, they only spawn around bodies/ piles of bodies placed by the director in the map.
I want to see Left 4 Dead 3 for the PS3
L4D 3 has to have a few things to make me buy it:
PS3
Crossplatform play with Steam
More guns
More zombies
Scarier maps
I take it you won’t be buying it, one of those WONT be added, BUT WHICH ONE?
Left 4 dead 2 had adrenaline and pills but left 4 dead 3 needs new healing items, like a bottle of whiskey which gives you +20% more durability and stamina for 1-5 minutes, but disorients your vision and makes you more clumsy, for example when you reload your gun, the gun gets jammed. And in the next chapter your character obviously is suffering from hangover.
I think the Left 4 Dead formula is near perfect, but my ideas would (in my opinion) make the next game have ENDLESS replay value.
Imagine instead of being forced to play as one of the game’s 4 default characters you create your own avatar. Since this game is played online so often, i think it would be great to see the different characters people create, and show off your own. Add a bit of an addicting quality by unlocking new items for character creation by completing different challenges and achievements.
Another idea that would match perfectly with my first is adding an rpg like quality, as you complete campaigns, kill infected and complete challenges you earn xp, each time you gain a level you earn a new perk, having a limit of 3 perks being equipped at once. This would allow players to define their character, making them different from everyone else’s. The perk system wouldn’t effect the classic Left 4 Dead formula we all know and love, in fact it would fit perfectly!!! Here is a list of just a few perk ideas that I think would fit into the game perfectly.
Increased Healing Speed
Slower bleed out during incap
Bonus 20% health
Carry additional grenades
Reload faster
Increased melee damage
Carry 2 primary weapons
Hold more ammunition
Pain Pills last longer
Stronger push/faster cooldown
Those are just a few of my perk ideas. I think it would make the game amazing, possibly my dream game. Taking Left 4 Dead and putting yourself into the game, customizing your character to your play style, and playing online with people that are doing the same would bring this game to a whole new level… (In my opinion)
A few other things I’d love to see, (and I’m sure not everyone would agree) is the ability to break free of the special infected that restrain you (like the smoker or hunter) through button mashing, to not take away from the game’s strong emphasis on teamwork, you would still take quite a bit of damage, and probably not be able to survive more than one or two special infected attacks without your team’s help.
I would also like to see a sort of “last stand” during the finale of each campaign, something where you’re setting up defenses, boarding up windows and setting traps in the few moments before the final attack. I think it would add to the suspense, and also make players feel a little more in control of the situation.
My last idea is for a “hardcore mode” which makes the game more about survival, have less infected, but start the characters out with nothing but a melee weapon, have them scrounge for everything they can. Make weapons few and far between, make ammo piles limited, and when a survivor on your team dies, they are gone for good, forcing you to finish the campaign without them. It would be a very different change of pace for the game, and I think alot of hardcore zombie fans would love it!
I’ve also been thinking about the idea of perks, looks like you beat me to it. Anyway, I was focused more on what the infecteds perks would be. I’ve settled on the idea that there would be 3 perks per SI, one of which can be leveled up twice. Becoming a level 1 infected allows for any of the 3 perks, level 2 allows either the lvl.2 perk, or any 2 lvl.1 perks. Level 3 lets you use the lvl.3 perk, the lvl.2 perk + a lvl.1 perk, or all 3 lvl.1 perks. Most perks also have their own drawback, but never more than what the perk adds. Ex: a perk for +30 health would give -10 speed, a perk for +30 speed would give -10 health. Some perks are opposites and cannot be combined.
Here’s what I think could work:
Hunter Perks:
Rage: Increases attack damage by 30%. Drawback: constant angry growling; can never be silent.
Stamina: Runs 20% faster, crawls 10% faster, jumps 30% further. Drawback: -10% damage and health.
Stealth: (Lvl.1) Silent while crouched, quieter while crawling. (Lvl.2) Silent also while crawling, quieter pounce screams. Drawback: 20% less damage. (Lvl.3) Near silent when leaping, can willingly jump off of a pinned survivor. Drawback: -30% damage.
Stealth cannot be used with Rage.
Smoker Perks:
Lick: Survivors are pulled 30% faster, +10% faster recharge after missing. Drawback:-20% range.
Eagle Eye: +30% tongue range, can ‘zoom in’, like when looking through a scope. Drawback: 20% longer recharge rate when missing.
Smog: (Lvl.1) 10% increase in smoke upon death, smoke causes 10 poison damage (10 health becomes temp health / 10 temp health is lost). Drawback: Increased amount of normal smoke (survivors see you better). (Lvl.2) +20% smoke upon death, causes 20 poison damage. Drawback: Further increase in visibility, -10% health (Lvl.3) 30 poison damage, smoke causes survivors eyes to water. Drawback: -20% health.
Eagle Eye cannot be used with Lick.
Boomer Perks:
Blubber: +20% heath, 10% resistance against fire. Drawback: -15% speed.
Pressure: Causes 20 damage upon death. Drawback: Bigger hit box.
Up Chuck: (Lvl.1) Bile lasts 20% longer on survivors. Drawback: 10% slower recharge rate. (Lvl.2) Bile lasts 30% longer, puking on all 4 survivors summons 2 hoards. Drawback: 30% longer recharge rate.(Lvl.3) Bile lasts 35% longer, 1 hoard is summoned per survivor. 40% longer recharge rate.
Blubber cannot be used with Up Chuck.
Those are the only infected I’v thought of so far, expect more for the others.
Having these perks shouldn’t overpower the infected side, because the survivors would also get special perks. If one team in Verses is a much higher level than another, the lesser team gets a bonus just to even the score out. The Special infected during Single player would have randomly assigned perks based on the difficulty.
In response to my previous reply for your post, Iv’e thought over what i hope would work as well balanced perks for the rest of the infected.
Charger Perks:
Ram-Slam: When charging, the charger does not grab onto survivors, he instead simply plows through them. His melee attack is instead replaced with a downward swing, which he can then use to pick up the survivors while they are still on the ground, he can also pick up incapped survivors this way. Drawback: He cannot death-charge a survivor off of a roof, out a window, etc. (because he doesn’t grab them).
Callus: 25% increase in health, increase in fire resistance. Drawback: -30% speed (when not charging)
Linebacker: (Lvl.1) Distance and speed of charge increase by 25% Drawback: 10% longer recharge rate. (Lvl.2) Distance and speed of charge increase by 30%, +20 damage t survivor upon impact with wall. Drawback: 20% longer recharge rate. (Lvl.3) Distance & speed increase by 35%, all damage increased 25%. Drawback: 30% longer recharge rate.
Linebacker cannot be used with Ram-Slam.
Spitter Perks:
Eagle Eye: 30% increase in spit range, can “zoom in” as if looking through a scope. Drawback: 30% longer recharge rate.
Hair Ball: Spit glob will stick to any wall or surface, and can be “detonated” at will, globs will self detonate after 25 seconds. Drawback: range decrease by 20%.
Sizzler: (Lvl.1) Radius of spit increase by 15%, spit causes 15% more damage. Drawback: -10% total health (max health is 90). (Lvl.2) Radius of spit increase by 20%, spit causes 20% more damage, spit lasts 10% longer. Drawback: -15% total health (max is 85). (Lvl.3) Radius of spit increase by 25%, spit causes 25% more damage, spit lasts 15% longer. Drawback: -20% total health (max is 80)
Eagle Eye cannot be used with Hair Ball.
Jockey Perks:
Hysteria: +25 damage. Drawback: Much louder laughing/cackling, almost like babbling.
Agility: Jump height and speed increase by 20%. Drawback: -5% damage and health.
Rough Rider: For all of these, the survivor stays in 1st person with his view obscured by the Jockeys hands. (Lvl.1) Jockey does 25% more damage. Drawback: survivor has 10% higher control of where he is steered. (doesn’t help much, he can’t see where he’s steering himself). (Lvl.2) Jockey does 30% more damage. Drawback: survivor has 15% more control. (Lvl.3) Jockey does 35% more damage. Drawback: survivor has 20% more Control.
Hysteria cannot be used with Rough Rider.
Tank Perks: (He doesn’t get as many, nor are they as game changing)
Roid Rage: 15% more punch damage. Drawback: Rage meter decreases faster.
Catch Up: Speed increase by 20%. Drawback: -10% punch damage.
Fast Pitcher: Debris throws fly 10% further and do 10% more damage. Drawback: Recharge rate for debris throw takes 10 seconds.
Tanks can only use one perk at a time.
Give me some feedback on what you think of these
It’s simply unfair. Think of it from the perspective of a survivor. You’re the last one standing, and one teammate is incapped. You have the choice to go down the no return spot or help him up. You see a charger. But now you don’t know if he takes you down with him or he just hits you to the side so you stay up there. Just one example. The survivors wouldn’t stand a single chance, because they would never know what “kind” of zombie they have to kill since every player has his own perks customized and the rage quits per game are too d*** high so there would be every minute a jockey with a different perk.
New players wouldn’t even have a chance to get better and because of this they’ll stop playing.
In versus matches the survivors will only rage quit to join another game to play as infected, even more than they do it now.
And would the AI’s spawn with a new randomized perk after every kill?
Besides that the drawbacks are a bad joke, right? It’s like “Here, take my 2nd pistol and now I get that sweet M60 with the ability to pick up ammo.”
This game isn’t made for personal perks.
That’s my opinion.
At a glance, yes it would seem to make them overpowered, but the infected would have different appearances depending on their perk, allowing most players to figure out what each does (assuming they’ve seen one before and remembered). Experienced players should at least be able to recall the important ones like “watch out for Hunters with the Maroon Hoodies, they do more damage than normal”. And if they can identify what its perk is, then they can also identify its drawback to know its special weakness.
This might be hard at first for new players, especially if they’ve never played L4D at all, but that’s why they should start out on lower difficulties, the higher/more powerful perks would only be seen in higher difficulties (or Realism). And if all else fails, you can simply look up the wiki or a strategy guide on how to deal with certain infected.
And it wouldn’t just be the infected, the survivors would also get perks, like being faster or aiming better, along with their already expansive range of different weapons they can get.
The intention of the drawbacks isn’t to cancel out their perk, think of it like 3 steps forward and 1 step back.
But of course, if you think the whole “perk” idea is a little too drastic then sure, L4D would be just as fine with out it, I was only looking for a way to mix up the game play and add to the replay-ability aspect of the game, so even when your’e Trapped in the same room with the same infected as last time, it will still play out differently.
I think that a new campaign that would be fun would be at a zoo. You could have the occasional zombie boss like a zombie lion pack or or hyena pack. It could also have an aquarium section with a giant octopus or something.
how about a sandbox sort of open world level where there is numerous safe houses to restock that you can move through till you reach a designated exit point in each level that is indicated through out the level. Like say a city where you are pointed towards a harbor but can get there any way you like
Winter or jungle type campaigns and a 5 chapter campaign which is basically like dead center where you have to get to the top of the building and finale is set to the rooftop
I think they should add like a jungle type setting and they should tell the orgin of the virus and i think the virus should be a flesh eating virus and if you get bit youre skin will start to come off and fade away and i think they should add a plane level or underwater level and i think they should all team up from 1 and 2
I think l4d3 should feature more chicks? I mean two women won’t hurt? or three? add a lil girl that keeps running away and then you have to find her? Before something else does? and maybe a built guy I mean c’mon let’s do a convoy type of thing haha juss jokes but that’s be cool ? Lol
i really wish you could release it for PS3 too, because thats what i have and me and my sister love the game
What about a prequel like several days after the Infection started and you can play as a SWAT squad sent in to stop the Infection from spreading and you can rescue the survivors in the first chapter then later on you have to retreat and have to save your own butts. Also, you get SWAT style weapons like MP5 or UMP and maybe you can dual wield (use riot shield and SMG or Pistol).
new weapons:
Bow and arrow ( i love killing the Smoker with throwing arrow )
Acid Launcher ( in game: rare and powerful weapon )
Aside from things like new weapons and items, I think there could also be a vest mechanic. A vest would be something that would start out as a backpack item, and upgrades you once you put it on, like when you heal yourself.
Whenever you receive armor that puts your health over 100, it would extend, making your health bar longer in order to include the additional 50. Armor points that are added aren’t like normal health points, for every 10 damage you take from blunt force (Punching, clawing, not Spitter goo or fire) 2 damage is taken from your health and 8 from your armor. You can only get rid of one vest by equipping another one, or letting it run out.
One type of vest should be the first one to pop into everyone’s head, Bullet Proof Vest/Body Armor. When applied, the survivor would receive an additional 25 health (stacked on top of regular health) and become immune to friendly fire or any other form of bullets (assuming L4D3 has an infected that shoots).
The next vest would be Football Gear. This would give you +50 Armor. Pretty straight forward.
Another would be a military Ammo Vest. It would look like body armor but with many pockets, and also some ammo belts going around your shoulder (Rambo style). When this is equipped, you are able to carry a much higher ammo count while also giving you an additional boost in ammo. sort of like an ammo pile that only you can use.
One would be an actual Backpack. Once equipped, the survivor is then able to hold much more items, like an additional grenade, health item (small, like pills) and even be able to hold more ammo.
And lastly, a Bomb Patrol vest. This one would give you 60 armor, make you explosion proof (they will knock you back, but wont hurt you), reduce the damage you take from bullets, and reduce the damage you take from punches. The downside to it is that it reduces your speed greatly, making it nearly impossible to outrun a Tank (the Tanks punch won’t hurt much, but smacking into a wall because of the punch will hurt).
Left 4 dead 3 needs new weapons like revolver, sawed-off shotgun, beretta 9mm pistol, bolt action sniper rifles, M4 assault rifle, mp5 or mp7 smg, shovel, kitchen knife, whiskey bottle and sledgehammer.
May 29, 2012 at 9:46 am Not that I’m sick of playing number 2 but I can’t wait for 3 I heard through the grapevine they would be advancing the plot, great idea, I’d like to see the outbreak at CEDA, More complicated missions, once you get good at left 4 dead it’s rare you die, which is good, however it’s a lot more fun sitting on the edge of your seat trying to fight for your virtual life, I can see it being a long time before this gets released but from the work I’ve heard they are doing I think it’s gonna be really good, what would really make the game f*cking awesome would be finally having a zombie game with a four player offline Co-op please please please, apart from the witch and tank I think a new super special is long over due, a mega tank, zombie that’s fast and strong that sneaks up on one player, I call it the sneaker :-) you could have a certain amount of time to get to them, one there tentacles or acid could be used to attack the players trying to save them, I would love if every time you played a mission like in the grave yard in number two you could have the level only allow you to travel along certain paths, mix it up a bit, new ways to alert hordes, alarmed doors constantly changing so you can’t tell which one will trigger the alarm, something besides bile jars, pipe bombs or Molotovs, like a smoke bomb or an acid bomb, oh my God, a device that when you throw it, it makes a noise and moves away from three direction it was thrown to distract zombies, a few more gadgets would be okay, night vision, infrared, if someone else is I’m trouble you can alert the zombies with a horn, originally posted on the wrong thread x
Im not a big fan of the new special infected. I would like to see better scenes. Maybe a movie theater? The beach/boardwalk. High school? As far as special infected go, i would like all of the ones from the first one back with some even better new ones. Like one that flies. CRAZY!!! Call him the gargoyle. I wish that each player could have some sort of body count on their screen yo show hoe many infected u have killed throughout the game.
I really think ya should add infected animals like dogs etc.
It would be awesome if in the storyline the sorvivors find a doctor with a cure and
you have to protect the doctor throughout the diffrent levels of the games but in each level
you have to drag a certain infected to the safe room to cure it of course gathering supplies
is nessesary this would be the end of the series
Grenades should be classified in tiers, or other subcategories. I.e. not all Pipe Bombs are the same; they can vary. The “tier 1″ Pipe bomb wouldn’t have the beeping light on it, meaning it wouldn’t draw hoards, but many players would still find it useful as it can be used better against Tanks and S.I. {explodes on impact, like in beta}. The “tier 2″ Pipe bomb would just be the normal one; nothing different than how it is now. The “tier 3″ Pipe bomb would be covered in Duct-Tape, {it’s civilian made} allowing it to stick to walls and even other infected.
Most of these grenade items would require an ignition source, like a match, in order to use. Some things you use would be either matches {limited amount} or a lighter {limited fuel, faster than using a match}. It would take an extra few seconds to light the match, but the lighter would only take a sec. These would have their own visible slot {can’t scroll over them, you only take them out when using an item that requires them}. Matches wouldn’t be found individually, They would come in sheets {10 matches} or a box {30 matches}. These would most often be found in Safe Houses or at finales.
There could be many more throwables that aren’t civilian made, however, like a standard military hand grenade. Variants to this could include: Regular {explodes upon impact}, C4 {sticks to walls, can be detonated}, and Napalm Grenade {Like a Molotov that explodes.}. The upside of these is that they would not require ignition.
There could even be some map specific items, like a stick of Dynamite that you only find in a warehouse or mine shaft.
i can’t wait, please release new L4D (LeftForDead3)
long time since i’ve last been on here ….
anyways i really hope ldf3 comes out soon(within 6 months or so)
i believe that there should be more storyline and scenes.
more maps and offline gameplay.
also its about time we see some snow … maybe a yeti SI
npc’s should be able to use defibrillators on us and be able to throw bombs.
customizable multiplayer characters, and a multiplayer ranking system
also there should be equip-able armour … like kevlar or leather
lastly i believe is should be a prequal… around the release of the virus…
Ok here’s my idea. Bear with me and please give me some feedback.
I love both games, highly addictive and very fun. L4D2′s added complexity had good and bad effects.
Firstly, I believe the next game should DEFINITELY be a prequel. Those of you who want to continue the story but with different characters- how does that make sense? It is not a continuation but a different storyline with references to or cameos from the characters from previous games.
The brilliance of the previous games was,in my opinion, lacking something crucial: storyline. Both games, whilst amazing, are very formulaic. It’s always getting from A to B, with zombies, events, etc standing in your way. The gameplay and imagination of the level designers more than makes up for this.
I propose a rethink of the game to include a more cinematic approach. This is my vision of L4D3…
As before, the game could be played through 4 player coop or as SI. The key difference is the progression through the game. There would be cutscenes which are fully interactive (like in half life 2). There would be actual human npcs who interact either positively or negatively with the 4 survivors, either leading them to various places or providing information or representing a threat.
eg. During the time when the infection has spread, but there are still many survivors, you come across small groups of people who are crazed and paranoid who try to kill you with guns and need to be killed.
There could also be a story thread involving the military (like in the comic)and constantly keeping the threat at bay.
There should be much more variation in the idea of a “saferoom”, but the chapters would work in a similar way. There should however be the element of unpredictability with bosses periodically through the game- These would require skill rather than brute force (as with the tank) and intelligence to figure out how to kill them. The bosses could take the form of new, much more powerful zombie(s) or some element of the military.
With a well written story, this would make a fantastic immersive game, which feels like more than an add-on like counter strike.
Traditional content, like new linear levels (as in the previous 2 games) could be added later as DLC. These could fit into/around the main story arc or be totally separate.
Thats pretty much it. Let me know what u think!
Iv’e been thinking that aside from campaign and single player, there should be a story mode. Story mode would be all the campaigns in a row with cut scenes in between. Ex: After completing No Mercy you would enter a cut scene where the pilot gets infected, is shot, and then crashes. You would then immediately begin Crash Course.
Story Mode shouldn’t be playable in one sitting, you would have to actually save your progress. This would allow us to get a better feel for what the story line is, but also allows other players to just jump in anywhere in Campaign mode if they don’t care about story and don’t wanna see any cut scenes.
Yet, in the developer commentary, Valve said that if we want to get more story out of the game we need to pay more attention to graffiti on the walls and other non-obvious things. Ex: The infection had spread down south because of the downed plane (Swamp Fever), It was carrying infected from Pennsylvania, which is why the military bombed the airport (Dead Air).
And the only reason I don’t think there should be a prequel is because if there are 3 new breeds of special infected every week, taking place before the other games wouldn’t have new infected. I’m sure Valve could probably write in a way for there to be new infected, but a lot of other fans, including myself, want to see how the infection is progressing during it’s 4th week (L4D2 was the 3rd week).
Good points, I didn’t realize that the games are in weeks after (wasnt paying attention i guess) It is true that it would be nice to see how the infection progresses, but everyone loves an origin story (see spiderman, wolverine and pretty much every other marvel film). Obviously there is scope for both if the developers desired.
As with the explanation being in the graffiti- yes this is nice, but I feel it is a cop out. For me there is a world of difference between half-life 2 and l4d simply because the player is immersed. Now when i play i dont see zombies or si anymore- they are just targets for me, they have no significance. (if you get me).
Regarding the SI, it would be simple to write in new ones to a prequel as (depending on the source of the infection) it could be based in the immediate vicinity of the outbreak. So for eg. if it was a military testing lab, the area around could contain anything they may have been experimenting on…so new SI don’t necessarily have to come about from evolution of the infection.
I’m also heavily influenced by Resident evil. I remember playing RE2 and just seeing the cutscene with the licker (early smoker?) scared the bejesus out of me. The game itself wasn’t that great in terms of playability, but the story was amazing.
Anyway I’m looking forward to what they come up with next.
Hi
(sorry for my English)
My idea is that in L4D3 the Survivors would be “professionals” – former soldiers or CEDA agents etc. And their mission would be not only run away from infected area, but also do something more “offensive”- for example, open the dam and flood the infected valley; or blow up liquid gas storage and burn infected city; or turn on the power station, powering zombie-killing electric fence; etc. etc. many similar missions could be invented.
Have one of the survivors be an Ex-Solder. Someone who was doing one of those things you listed in order to fight the infection, but then his team got killed, so he later met up with the other 3 survivors. As you go through the story he would reveal things about the military and CEDA that couldn’t be told through graffiti or other media. And if L4D3 has survivor perks, he would be the guy with better weapon handling.
And your’e too bad on yourself, your English isn’t that bad.
There should be a Fight or Flight mechanic. You can tell when your in these modes by a sort of “Tunnel Vision” effect.
In Fight, the survivor would do much more damage from shoving and hitting, and in Flight, the survivor would be able to escape from danger with an extra burst of speed.
You would enter Fight mode if something makes you angry, and not just something like “Yur an a**, Francis”, Like after seeing a Hunter rip apart your friend you have the sudden urge to beat him to death out of blind furry! This mode also makes you see red (like as an infected)
Flight mode would be entered when a survivor sees the need to panic and run away, and is activated easier with lower health (because of the fear!) So you would typically book it when ever you walk around a corner straight into a Tanks loving grasp. This would also be for when a team mate is being quickly killed, and you run to their rescue, reaching them just seconds before they go down. This view would make things look much cooler, most things would fade out or turn grey.
Both modes are entered simultaneously when using an Adrenaline Shot.
I want to see an offline mode where you can play as the special infected.
I’m no admin, but a couple comments on comments…
-I see Character Creation on here a bit. That won’t work. Part of the appeal of L4D is the vast number of text files.
-Let’s not forget about challenge. There are some requests for things like using first aid while down. That won’t work. This would make the game too easy.
-The Ideas for new infected need to not be so… Absurd. One of the great things about L4d is the fact that the different types of Infected make since. The Virus would affect you differently if you had large muscles, smoked cigarettes, or were depressed. A huge zombie makes no since.
Emma
“…Towering at a height of 10’5…”
This is a good example of what I just described. I don’t know anyone who is 10’5. It wouldn’t make any since.
On a positive notes, better story, vehicles, and infant special infected sound awesome.
I’m not saying an infant zombie wouldn’t be SCARY AS S#!T, But they can’t add them because the rating would go from M to AO (Adults Only), that’s the only reason why they never put in infected kids or animals, AND THEY WANTED TO!
I think an interesting new boss infected wouldn’t be one thing, but instead a bunch of things. An idea for a “boss” that I have is called The Pack, it’s a group Hunters (3-4) that travel as one. One is much bigger, stronger, faster, has a deeper growl, and does more damage. He would be the Alpha Hunter. When the pack spawns, they emit a mass howl, similar to when a hoard spawns. Killing the Alpha Hunter will incite fear into the other Hunters, causing them to flee and despawn. When you kill a normal Hunter the Alpha Hunter would howl loudly, summoning a new Hunter to take his place, meaning the only way to stop them is to kill the Alpha.
thats an okay idea, but it needs only 3, two regulars and one alpha, if all 4 get pounced, then what, you need at least 1 person to save the rest
Maybe the other Hunters would be weaker and smaller, and also have the survivors call them “Pups”. They wouldn’t be much like special infected, more like Uncommon infected that jump and scream at you. They wouldn’t leap as far or do as much damage, but it doesn’t matter because there’re just a distraction from the alpha. And maybe you’d be able to fight them off with a button prompt, or just have them jump off after a bit.
i say again:
(1)
l4d3 needs a new monster,
monster: horror , deadly , strong & giant
that the survivors are forced to flee into the building.
(2)
Scary and mysterious creature that when survivors see it:
they are having seizures and cant move
thats stupid, the idea of that seisure thing? wtf!!! that wouldnt be a good idea
I’m just looking for more fear,
and this is my idea: new monster & seizures thing
What you think & whats your idea? (for more fear)
Maybe instead of the “seizure” thing, have something stun and confuse the survivors, like a venom that makes them “drunk”, makes them stumble around slowly and totally messes up their aim, like the Nova Gas from Black Opps.
