Some time back some prankster created a fake “Gabe Newell” Twitter account claiming Valve was to start work on Left 4 Dead 3 shortly after L4D 2 was released. When Left 4 Dead 2 was released a year after the first, there was an uproar by some fans because a sequel was announced not even a year after the first L4D was released. So you can imagine how angry some fans were when this Twitter impostor tweeted Valve was working to release L4D3 on November, 17th 2010, one year after L4D2 hit shelves. Some fans believed this announcement, which seemed believable at the time when your emotions get the best of you, and L4D3 boycott groups quickly sprung up on the Steam Community and around the web.

Ok… a lot of people are missing the point of this game and the ideas they’re throwing out are retarded to the point of stupidity. Let’s look at the title of Left 4 (emphasis on 4) Dead. It’s about 4 survivors trying to find their way to safety. The sandbox idea won’t work because one, sandboxes are glitchy and mildly unstable at best, there’s too much going on especially in a L4D game for it to be a good concept.
The customizable characters idea is overdone in the video game world and wouldn’t work as L4D IS a somewhat story based game, even if the story is told through idle chatter and what’s written on walls. The characters need to be themselves and not us.
Customizable guns… seriously? this is a world based on survivors, not highly trained arms specialists that know how to assemble a gun from different parts, the fact that they all know how to use the guns in the right manner in the first place is a stretch at best but we’ll just leave that one be seeing as that’s the whole point of the game.
The special infected are all based off of some preexisting condition or disease that the infected individual had when he/she turned, so all of the ideas with plants or electricity are all ridiculous… The only one that’s actually difficult to assess is the charger considering there’s not really many conditions of one enlarged arm…
Also, the characters have to be mixed with ethnicity and gender so that there can be equality and so that there’s a less possible chance of a lawsuit somewhere down the line.
As for driving around… for some small areas it might not be a bad idea, but as for a lot of driving, it’d make it too easy and come one… this isn’t grand theft auto or saint’s row, let’s keep the game L4D.
The point I’m trying to make here is let’s keep this game what it is, let’s not make L4D into some other genre, or some other game. It is what it is, 4 survivors trying to find a way out of their predicament. Taking away from the essence of the game itself is just wrong.

Now that they’ve given Cold Stream a release date, they also said they had some more “surprises” in store. It can’t be another DLC because they would have saved one of the campaigns to be ported with it, instead of putting all of them in Cold Stream. They’ve also previously stated that they ARE still working on something L4D related, and that it WASN’T part of the upcoming DLC, this could be the announcement we’ve all been waiting for.
What they should also do is make the fact that ur partners can carry items like gas tanks, molitovs, pipe bombs, goo, and defibrillators if you need it. Man, they would be more helpful on holding out

Yes I, and I’m sure many many others would advise you to buy this game anytime.. Valve hasn’t even released whether or not they are even making another l4d. Even if it had it would be a LONG time before a release date was set.
Sad to think about but I would suggest both l4d 1 and 2, theyre amazing games whether or not there is a three! 
Philtkamp u should just get l4D2 because there’s no announcement for a l4d3 yet. I mean u have to see the maps, zombies, survivors and weapons right? Then u can help on improvements they can make

What they need first thing is better realistic graphics. I mean the spitter should be able to spit on your body right? Instead of burning your feet but I’m just saying have it burn their feet in case you miss but allow at least some of it to burn your body if you can aim. What they also need is more special infected like aggressive ones too. It would be cool to have an underground zombie that jumps out on top of you and bites your neck, or maybe a flying zombie. They also need bigger explosions I mean the white bombs don’t even blow up huge, pipe bombs are good but bigger explosions. They need to add more weapons like a flame thrower, rocket launcher but with little ammo and not too powerful or else it would be easy. Characters also need better graphics and realistic conversations instead of them saying the same things like RELOADING 80% of the time. They also need to make the fact that you carry 2 heavy guns instead of 1. Sometimes people can’t decide on a machine gun or shotgun. And last but not least, more campaigns like 6 or 7, maybe a school,zoo, baseball field/ stadium, casino, aquarium, etc etc. I want them to make it as realistic and awesome they can for all of us out there.
Hey, im a big fan of left for dead. Ive been playing this game a lot with my friends and it just kicked a**. As did we. The nececity to act like hiveminds is just awesome. The egocentric people will lose, and the sheep will conquer. I just hope left for dead will come out one day, so I can return to my hivemind state.
ive been reading what people were saying over here, and i disagree with, a lot of them on one thing. Many said that they would like a sandbox. I dont. I would get realy annoyed when people would just wonder off on their own, and would start fighting over what route is the best. I think making it a sandbox in multiplayer would kill the game. only friends that have a certain route set would be able to play the game without raging. It would be nice if every time u do a multiplayermap, the maps differ in some sort, that routes will be blocked or openend.
And valve, if you guys bring out an awesome game, do you realy think people will have remembered the boycot

I think left 4 dead 3 should be sort of pike the old ones but more story telling more cutseans it should take place in were it all started from cuz we don’t know were it started and how left 4 dead 3 should explain all of that Maby go in to the main source of the infection what caused it and who made it make the player feel like if he/she is part of the story decision making like which way to take like one side might have s*** loads of zombies but at the end it has good weponds and health but the other Side has not much but it is safe to go u know give the player more choices ether risk losing a player and get good suplys or don’t risk losing a player and get shity things hard disitions hope some one reads this!

It is going to be about as long to make as Half-Life 3 or Half-Life 2 Episode 3, or Dota 3, or Portal 3, or Team Fortress 3, or Counter-Strike 3.

Maybe the first heroin is mother of 4 kids , age maybe 40 , little big fat like our previously couch ? And another heroin is a gothic girl with strange outfit but cool . . the male character i don’t really mind who is it. . My idea for The new SI such the choker that will attack you suddenly and choke you , the dragger that will drag you like smoker. . And The screamer that scream very loud and will cause you dizzy. . The new map such as the highway . .
it hhas to be scary like lets say a zombie runs by and lightning strikes bang a horde of zombies runs at you and then bang they disapeare with another strike of lightning

you could have a certain amount of time to get to them, one there tentacles or acid could be used to attack the players trying to save them, I would love if every time you played a mission like in the grave yard in number two you could have the level only allow you to travel along certain paths, mix it up a bit, new ways to alert hordes, alarmed doors constantly changing so you can’t tell which one will trigger the alarm, something besides bile jars, pipe bombs or Molotovs, like a smoke bomb or an acid bomb, oh my God, a device that when you throw it, it makes a noise and moves away from three direction it was thrown to distract zombies, a few more gadgets would be okay, night vision, infrared, if someone else is I’m trouble you can alert the zombies with a horn, my God it would appear my ideas are getting ridiculous so I’m gonna stop now x

More complicated missions, once you get good at left 4 dead it’s rare you die, which is good, however it’s a lot more fun sitting on the edge of your seat trying to fight for your virtual life, I can see it being a long time before this gets released but from the work I’ve heard they are doing I think it’s gonna be really good, what would really make the game f*cking awesome would be finally having a zombie game with a four player offline Co-op please please please, apart from the witch and tank I think a new super special is long over due, a mega tank, zombie that’s fast and strong that sneaks up on one player, I call it the sneaker

Make it in new york like i am legend, a broken apocalyptic old new york, with tons of buildings you can access, variation in weather patterns, open world style, but with the same speed maybe a tad slower on how the zombies run but still fast, give them real zombie deep growling noises not those retarded squeals,.

I think that it should take place in North Carolina. After taking place in a shelter, things start to go awry and they are forced to escape although its snowing. Its January and the survivors should have a deeper back story with better dialog. Also, the old special infected will have new abilities due to the fierce infection. The new zombies should include The Injector and the Breeder
Just make the dang game already im tired of all this stuff and i dont feel like waiting a year and a half to play this just make and give us a relese date it would make all ok us more happy then what we are right now got it???!?!?!?!
Tape pipe bombs to gas cans and oxygen/gas tanks to create larger spread of fire or larger explosion. Add breeder and a charger with big bone growths that instead of grabbing and pummelling, will run forward and like an old war chariot, do massive damage to people immediately to side of path, and knockdown/knockback to anyone immediately in front of. Make true multipath levels, like having the option of taking a street or working your way through buildings and alleyways, or taking rooftops, and have pro’s/con’s be along the lines of shortest and straightest path versus more items and less exposure from open area. Maybe include a SI that can actually direct a horde of say 10 to 15 zombies, that can be replenished from the level, so they can direct an attack against a specific survivor at will, more accurate than the boomer method. Offer events that instead of just hordes, maybe have a rush of SI, spawn times of 5 seconds for 10-15 SI to rush, changes the pace of the game more. These I would like to see.

u should make the hunter as 3 hunters that look the same and 2 are fake and 1 is real THAT WOULD BE AWSOME

An idea for a new foe off mine would be what I call ‘blader’. Imagen sword like arms and impressive speed plus the ability to consume normal infected to heal itself. It would distinctive do it’s red glowing veins across its body and black armor like skin. you could make it so when a witch has been disturbed she can releas a special scream that would summon one of these making players beome even more carful when they run into witches.

I think a good idea is to be able to make your own accent and charechter and optianaly add speech using voice command and this works by giving u a list of events in which they speak,like boomer! Or grabbin adrenaline,ect ect.
I think a new zombie called a grunter would be a good idea. You will know he is going to attack because you hear a long and grinding fart while his eyes are bulging out. When he is shot dead, poo explodes all over the place making the survivor not able to react to a horde. He can attack by turning quickly and showing hiss grinder and making smoke (fart) screen. This just an idea.

I think it should survival mode an different types of special infected and let you chpose your gun before the new round and they should put in more guns
I would really like to see character customization as well as building our own stronghold to defend a new type of survival. another thing that would be really cool is supporting up to 8 or even 16 survivors that way we would have to fight over gear while still helping each other and also making the hordes bigger.
I hope that if there is going to be a new left for dead game they give you more choices for characters, a better gun variety, more special infected types and give the old ones new abilities, improve versus so it’s actually balanced, encourage teamwork and reward it with more ammo or a damage boost or even extra health and supplies in the safe room but limit it so it’s not exploited, longer campaigns or at least more of them say about ten or more with a new one each month, develop the characters like provide a background on them, a deeper storyline, story based choices and even enviroent choices like up or down,left or right and have it affect the game, a map builder thing for console owners would be cool too but most of all make it scary and make it fun and replayble.

I gotta say I am dissapointed in the left 4 dead 2 community on Xbox. They made this awesome game and made it to be team based, but it is near impossible to come across ‘team based’ players. That said, I hope Left 4 Dead 3 (if it ever happens) takes a little bit of emphasis of the team requirement, where if you are a bad a** shot you can run off rogue and do some real damage. I also wish they would make it more of a sand box enviornment that is ever changing. You know, ‘do we go left or right, high or low, through or around?’ Or even ‘which way has more shreiks and which way looks like it might have supplies?’
I think it would be cool if you got to create your own character and your partners or atleast get a group of people to choose form like the Resident Evil Raccoon City where you get to choose your partners and your own character ,but something new would be able to create your own character.
I am wondering if you get to create your character that would ruin online and split-screen gameplay because you wouldn’t really be following a specific story. So if VALVe is going to allow you to create your own character you should only be allowed to have you and your split-screen partner to and online just stick with the actual story line characters.
