Where Should L4D3 Take Place?
Left 4 Dead 1 took us to the state of Pennsylvania where we fought hordes of zombies at the airport. We smoked smokers in the cornfields of Blood Harvest. We crowned Witches on the pier of Death Toll and battled Tanks on the rooftop of No Mercy Hospital. In the end we had to make The Sacrifice.
Left 4 Dead 2 took us to a different part of the United States, down to the deep south where our latest survivors faced a whole different breed of special infected. This journey began in Savanna, Georgia. We managed to steal a race car from the local shopping mall. We fought our way through burning infernos. We dodged Chargers off of bridges. We stomped through the wetlands of the Louisiana Bayou. We made it through the darkest of carnivals. Some even saved a Gnome!
Where should Left 4 Dead 3 take place? What city should it resemble, or what party of the country? Does it stay on the East Coast and takes us through the Big Apple of New York City, or to Washington, DC and the Pentagon? Maybe L4D 3 goes to the West Coast and we get a glimpse of the zombie infestation in Los Angeles. Perhaps the infection is global and we see the outbreak in another part of the world?
There have been many great suggestions listed on the Left 4 Dead 3 Wishlist, but few have talked about where L4D3 should take place.
I think that there should be more than the set amount of Survivors; I know it fits in with the game name and all, but let only 4 characters be playable. I mean hell; can we at least have an Asian character? Or a girl and boy of each race to be played from.
I like one of the previous comments about not having any music, but I think there should be a little subtle music just to add a bit of a fear factor.
I don’t really agree with the idea of “perks” or “skill trees” but I think that maybe if L4d3 was to include if not character creation, but a character customisation; e.g.: changing Ellis’ hat or Zoey’s jacket. To complete different designs or even hair styles. And as for the perks I mentioned earlier perhaps characteristics to suit the character. E.g.: Zoey a faster survivor or can apply adrenaline or other secondary healing items to survivors, Coach or Francis does more damage with melee weapons and picks up survivors faster. (Just examples)
As for where the location, I haven’t got much of an idea for where it could be set, but In my opinion the location and game play was a lot better in L4d1, the darkness, the mood and the feel was just perfect.
A little more interesting special infected -larger maps, more exploration rather than a simple one way towards different safe rooms. Maps should also have dead end routes, short cuts which are more dangerous or longer routes which are safer. Also, I and a lot of people I know would really enjoy a different, a lot more realistic side to l4d other than “realism” which is really, just a little harder version of a normal game type. I think realism should be a mix between, current realism, scavenge, and a really large map. Or several, dedicated to a “true realism” mode. Headshots, food, and enough oil to perhaps over to a different location, it’s a lot to ask for but just think how great it would be.
- With the right tension, scares and intensity, each run for food or gas could be a fight for life. It could even have a versus side where it has set runs where at times your either on the go for supplies whilst barraged by special infected, or a survival where you’re over run..With special infected helping out.
L4d3 could be something, really, really amazing PLEASE don’t fan’s idea’s and don’t cut the game short just because of time or because it will cost more. L4d could be amazing, don’t leave us high and dry.
LA…….and go to Area 51 where there could be like a weird alien infected or sumthing……it would be cool i guess
It should be placed in United States Landmarks, Charactors that want to remmember the world before the infection… so for 3 map ideas: Las Vegas, Washington DC, The Alamo, and Pearl Harbor (after a boat ride with Virgil, the boat driver in l4d2). In Vegas you need to go through Casinos because most of the streets are blocked by rubble and alarm cars, then you make your way to the stratosphere tower for pick up by helecopter. In Washington DC: go to landmarks, like the Lincoln memorial, and you’ll eventually find a safehouse around the White House A.K.A the bomb shelter reserved for the president. The alamo may just end up being a survive map. And Pearl Harbor would look like a last stand area where the military went to hold off the zombies (remaking the idea of what really happend at Pearl Harbor)
i think left 4 dead should kick it up a notch and have more characters to play has like cod mw3? like have one part of the story in Canada *cough cough* and one for example like the new york to the pentagon but, also have countries like great britian, or japan or thailand. but have it all in sections and dont forget africa or egypt but i would like to see it in that form but if i could pick one, i would like to see it in japan or china big populated areas
I think that left for dead three should be moving through states just like left for dead two when they traveled down to louisiana. I think that left for dead three should start off in illinois springfield, after getting rescued by finding a metro link (train system). Then after getting rescued the train breaks down in missouri St.louis where they travel to the gateway to the west to find it destroyed, after calling a man with his fox news helicopter. After being rescued by a helicopter they travel down to oklahoma brick town, where they crash after the pilot was attached by his dead friend in the passenger seat of the helicopter. At brick town they travel through stores and find crashed boats and destroyed bridges. After finding their way around the town they find call down a bridge to get across to find an abandoned military vehicle. After driving down into texas their vehicle breaks down in Austin where they find CEDA evacuation after fighting there way through the greenbelt swamps and rivers. CEDA evacuation takes place at an building in the middle of the greenbelt where military forces are called to rescue the survivors… THE END
